Great central location. Large, clean cooking facility. We had a fun group from all over the globe. Fun to cook together and drink wine together. Our teacher Sonja and our translator Aldo took amazing care of us and made the class fun. We made typical delicious Guatemalan dishes. The pepian was delicious, the tortillas, fun to make. Lots of fun, great food and outstanding staff.

This was a super fun experience, even for someone not very talented at cooking! Sonia and Diego were very knowledgeable and helpful, and the food was amazing! Very grateful they have vegan and vegetarian options, which they had no trouble accommodating for me. Highly recommend!

I really enjoyed the lesson and the food made was delicious. Sonia (chef) and Diego (English translator) were both lovely. I did the “basic” class and there were 2 others in my group. The setup worked well - it was more of a demonstration with lots of group participation in the prep and cooking (as opposed to each individual making every recipe). I enjoyed that the class was in Spanish with English translation to improve my Spanish. Make sure where you are staying has a fridge as you will have lots of delicious food left over!

We visited La Tortilla for the short cooking course in Antigua. We loved the whole experience and would highly recommend it! Our chef Sonia was really nice and our translator and sous-chef Catherine was great. We cooked a typical Guatemalan dish called Pepien with chicken and squash as well as Guatemalan rice and home made corn tortillas. Two glasses of wine were included which was nice. If you are looking for a relaxed cooking class with friendly people then this is the place to be. We hadn’t taken a cooking class before but it was really relaxed and easy to follow. We were the only people on the course so got private tuition!
