I booked this tour on 6/23/21 because I wanted to know the most scenic points to take a few flicks - I got so much more! Even if you care nothing for photography, this tour is a must! The guide Rudy is amazing and very knowledgeable on the history of the city, his expertise adds a richness to viewing the city and exquisite details visitors would otherwise overlook. Rudy is also an excellent photographer. No camera needed, bring your iPhone or Android as Rudy is also very savvy on the features of both and will show you how to maximize any scene. As a bonus, Rudy provided a list of great things to do and eat around the city and offered to be an ongoing contact for any questions the group may have throughout our stay. If you’re Spanish is dicey, don’t worry! Rudy is perfectly bilingual, speaking fluent English, in addition to being awesome company. I’ve included shots inspired by Rudy that I (a novice) took during this trip.

Rudy gave me a great introduction to Antigua. We started with a brief presentation on street photography in the cafe, then hit the park to practice.. Rudy was a master at engaging people so they would respond to the camera, giving me the chance to get some great shots. We then wandered through the streets, looking for more interesting moments. I picked up a lot of tips on camera settings for rapidly changing environments, anticipating for the moment, and engaging people. I also learned a lot about the city's layout and history. In fact, he was more informative than the official (non photo) walking tour I took in Antigua. Rudy is a bright and talented guy. You can't go wrong with his photo tours, tailored to your interests.

Rudy is an amazing photography guide. I've worked with photography guides in dozens of cities all over the world and Rudy is definitely one of the very best. He knows Antigua backwards and forwards, where all the great pictures can be taken, what time of day to take them, and more. He was incredibly helpful in guiding me towards the optimal settings for each photo and also really encouraged experimentation. He's also just really smart and has all sorts of interesting things to say about the city and the sites. And he's fun! We had originally planned just to spend one morning with him but we liked him so much we added on another day. I cannot recommend Antigua photo walks more highly.

We had Eli for our tour guide through the city for the most Instagrammable locations! He was so knowledgeable about the city while also giving my mother photo lessons as she took couple photos of my fiancé and I! I would highly recommend this to anyone new to the city. 5 stars!!

I had such an INCREDIBLE time with Rudy on the Antigua photo walk. I learned a lot about the history of the area and learned SO MANY helpful photography tips. As a bonus he also took some photos of me on his camera and sent them to me, which was nice because I’m a solo traveler so I usually don’t have many photos of myself. It was such a fun experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone who visits Antigua. One of the highlights of my trip! Muchas gracias por todo Rudy!!!

My husband and I were lucky enough to have Rudy to ourselves and what a good tome we had. He was extremely knowledgable, not only about photography but about architectural, cultural and culinary aspects of Antigua. He was equally a good coach for me on my iPhone as for my husband using his Nikon D750! We learned a lot and had a lot of fun. We are only sorry we didn’t book the tour for the first day we were in Antigua. We highly recommend this tour.

The morning began with coffee in the dining portion of Máximo Nivel surrounded by beautiful photos that we later found out had been taken by Rudy himself. We all introduced ourselves and got to know each other while we waited for the last group member. During this time Rudy gave us tips and tricks about photography, mini history lessons and latest on the local community. When the last person arrived, he started our "lesson" with PowerPoint presentations on some photography basics, street photography and tips for powerful portraits. After ensuring our devices of choice were set up for success, we were off into the streets of Antigua taking photos of strangers walking past beautifully weathered walls in nearly optimal lighting. Did I mention our walk took place during Semana Santa (Holy Week)??!? We had more subjects than we could handle. Between the locals donned in violet robes carrying floats, tourists gawking at said floats, the hundred vendors and candid children everywhere, we were all enthralled by the entire experience. If there was an upcoming opportunity that none of us saw, he made sure to alert us in time to get the shot. He was incredibly helpful the entire time especially when trying to get "close" (it's in quotations because, apparently, close is relative). Though having an authentic Panza Verde with you as you get right up in someone's face with your camera seems to get better results. (I tried it already... trust me). The two hours went by WAY too fast. I would recommend this to family, friends, neighbors, enemies, girls scouts, Marines, lovers, haters and everyone in between. It's pretty damn legit.

Our family of five (kids age 10,11,13) thoroughly enjoyed our three hour photo tour around Antigua with Rudy! He gave us several helpful hints and our kids enjoyed the photo "challenges" he presented. He also took us to several places off the beaten path that we would have never discovered on our own. Rudy was knowledgeable, friendly, and professional from start to finish. I highly recommend a photo tour with Rudy!

Rudy is a passionate photographer who is enthousiastic to share his vast experience and his many useful insights about photo portraiture and street photography. You will easily learn to approach people in the street to take their picture, to manage the correct camera settings in different situations and to accurately apply the rules of composition. The two hours of walking the streets of Antigua with Rudy is a mix of pure photographic joy and education which I can only highly recommend to any photo amateurs of all levels of skill.

My goal was to obtain some quality photos of Guatemala. Rudy not only showed me how to identify and frame interesting shots, he also helped me learn how to use my camera. I had no idea that my camera had so many settings. What could be more enjoyable than walking around beautiful Antigua taking pictures to preserve the wonderful memories. You don't need to have an expensive camera to benefit from this experience.
