One can see most of Antigua and the surrounding landscape from up there, and it doesn’t take much time. It is a great place for photos; I’ve shot Fuego erupting every time I’ve been there!

We hired a Tuk Tuk to take us up the mountain to see the Cerro de la Cruz. It was a nice lookout. The most disappointing part was the Tuk Tuk driver who ripped us off. One should verify the price before hiring a driver....More

We took a tuk-tuk up (but be sure to barter over the price) and walked down. It was a fun Sunday afternoon activity. The view was great and the path down was a well maintained cement sidewalk.

Amazing views. El Fuego erupted while we were there. Go first thing as it usually gets cloudy in afternoon

It is a steady hike up, but not very long and so worth the view of the city! The volcano is a wonderful backdrop for pictures of Antigua.

From the Cerro de la Cruz you have an amazing view all around Antigua and the volcanos. It is an easy walk, you do not need any hiking shoes at all. Go there when the sky is clear, so you get amazing shots from there!...More

You can hike up the 309+ stairs or get a car to the top. Either way there are great views over the city and if you are lucky Agua volcano.

This is a very easy walk up the hill to a nice viewpoint over Antigua. We had read that the trail is dodgy and dangerous but it did not have that feel to us at all. There were couples and groups of school children going...More

Thrilling panorama of Antigua Guatemala. Just 2 minutes from the Central Square by foot. Parking is available as well as an opportunity to buy some souvenirs as well as cold beverages.

Is it possible to take a tuk tuk up to Cerro de la cruz or do you have to walk all the way up ?

You can cab, tuk tuk, or walk. It's a nice walk, actually.

I read that there is police patrol in Cerro de la Cruz. Will that be true for Dec 25? Thanks.

My son and I hiked Cerro de al Cruz just a few days ago and there was a noticeable police presence. We hiked up at sunset for the amazing view, coming down in the dark, and between the crowds and the police, we never felt even the slightest bit unsafe. Well worth the walk and time...

Can TukTuks take you all the way up to Cerro de la Cruz in Antigua or will they only drive to the bottom and you have to walk up the mountain ?
