Do you want a one-of-a-kind, true Guatemalan experience while supporting local communities, interacting with local Guatemalans and getting off the beaten path? Meet farmers and artisans and work alongside them in their homes, as you create your own souvenir and memories to last a lifetime. No experience necessary - just a sense of adventure. De la Gente is a non-profit that offers community tourism as a way to create a real cultural experience by encouraging interaction between visitors and local Guatemalans, as well as to supplement income for the farmers and artisans. Our goal is to make a positive difference in the lives of the people who visit us while having an impact on the lives of the people and communities with whom we work on a daily basis.

Highly Highly recommend. We had Julio for a translator, and our farmer was Andres, and they took us on a tour of Andres's coffee fields, part of the coffee cooperative. It's created, owned and operated by local farmers, which means all their profits go back...More

Ngo provides coffee tours with local farmers, highly regarded. Included in the cost is a "free" pound of coffee.

Thoroughly enjoyed my time spent with Julio learning all about growing and making great coffee. The best part was going to his family home to grind, roast and drink coffee. It is a real local experience spent with a beautiful family!

100% recommend. Also, pay extra to eat an authentic meal with their family. It is definitely worth it for the knowledge gained about the whole farm to home coffee experience. Support the farmers and their families and take this tour!

Hi there! You can reserve a tour by phone, email, or through our website. If you don't have a working Guatemalan phone, you can usually ask your hotel or hostel to use theirs, or go to one of the small shops (tiendas) that... More
