Antigua always means history! But, nevertheless, it certainly means shopping too. The beauty and colors of Guatemalan / Mayan crafts (clay, wood, ceramics and so on) and of the traditional textiles bewitch all travelers, being almost impossible to leave this fantastic city without buying anything. So, "Nim Po't" is the right place to go! A large shop, with very many individual stands, and the most beautiful souvenirs one can imagine! Besides that, "Nim Po't" is located right at the heart of the city's historic center. "Arco de Santa Catalina" and "Iglesia de la Merced" are just a few steps away. Enjoy!

We wound up shopping twice at NIm Pot, which is well-located near the Arco, and is full of every type of souvenir and craft item you night want. There were some excellent buys on high quality textiles, and also used ikat skirts, if you know what to look for.

For those wanting to get hassle free souvenirs at good quality and prices better than most hawkers in the touristy spots, this place will be a haven for you. No pushy sales people, well laid out, and clearly priced. It’s also handily locates near the arc and Iglesias de Merced

If there is one thing my wife absolutely hates about gift or souvenir shopping in Central America, it is being hassled at market stands with calls of "what you look for, lady?", "special price for you", "almost free for you", etc. If she can simply shop unmolested and pay a fair price without haggling, she is happy. Such is the case for Nim Po't. The prices for their merchandise are typically below the posted prices of places where you are expected to haggle and often below what you can get when haggling.

For souvenirs of a truly unforgettable trip, we bought a handpainted wooden cross and handwoven placemats at Nam P’ot. Credit cards are accepted and the items are nicely wrapped for travel. Prices are reasonable and the experience is totally hassle-free. You are left alone to shop.
