It is really interesting to see all kind of people walking up and down while you are sitting in one of the colonial benches in the "Parque Central" (the main square) while enjoying a drink. Antigua Guatemala is one of the best well preserved colonial...More

I love Antigua and the park is very very beautiful, safe, well maintained and has entertainment on the weekends. The cathedral is beautifully lit up at night. It is certainly worth seeing, certainly don't skip it! One thing that is isn't is relaxing. You simply...More

This is rather a disappointment as the town of Antigua is so special with lovely architecture that there is nothing in the main square of note, rather dirty and barren with a few trees, lots of trinket vendors and beggars.

It is a good place to sit and people watch, read a book or simply relax. You do get the occasional person coming up to you to sell things, so it gives me a chance to practice my spanish and learn a bit more about...More

Great place to meet and enjoy the lifestyle of the families and locals in this park. Watch out for the pigeons and please do not feed or purchase feed for them. This is going to be a major issue for the city down the road...More

A good spot to spend the afternoon and enjoy a good coffee or good lunch at any of the restaurants surrounding the area. The most relevant museums are around the plaza so you can visit and relax after visiting most of them.

A nice park centrally located in downtown Antigua. I enjoyed sitting on a bench next to the fountain drinking coffee and people watching. Lots of food options next to the park as well as a market for souvenirs too.

You'll find that most places in Central America will take U.S. currency but you will most likely get a better conversion rate if you have the countries local currency ( Guatemala Quetzal)
