After touring around the city via foot, to historic sites it is a wonderful place to relax in the shade and watch the "world" go by. Native women in their colorful dresses congregate there to rest, visit with friends after selling their wares. You may also pick up a horse drawn carriage there at the plaza.

a 15 minute walk from the street market. venders accept dollars. Many restaurants close by. Easy to meet your bus driver here in front of cathedral if you need a meeting place. Lots of shade trees and benches.

Nice place to sit and have a take out coffee watching the world go by. You will be constantly pestered by street sellers but they are not aggressive. The absolute disgrace is the horse and carriage rides, the animals look poorly cared for but idiot tourists are still encouraging this trade by booking rides. The town is trying to ban... More

This park is pretty and everything is around it. You got banks you got food (fancy food mostly but good) you got tours you got people selling flutes. It's cool ! The big church nearby is pretty sick. There's a bunch of old ruined churches walking distance as well that are worth checking out. The park kinda is the gathering... More

Located in the middle of town this park is a great place to people watch. This was our meeting location every time we would meet and then take off from here. There are a lot of locals here and it's just a good place to experience the culture.

A great place to rest and people watch. On weekends it fills with people, music, and entertainers. On the square is the Cafe Condessa, a lovely place to have breakfast or lunch. Also on that square is cafe Barista for a nice capucino. All interesting streets start from the central park.

Pretty place to have rest and watch the sights around you. Plenty of trees for shade, and a lovely water fountain in the centre. I found the number of people trying to sell you things continually spoil the atmosphere a little; although I also understand they are just trying to make a living.

Antigua Guatemala is best known as "La Antigua". It's the best Colony city keept in shape. It's stone streets and the architecture makes La Antigua a romantic place. Even if you visit day or night, you will find something to do. Do it with a nice pair of sneakers and comfortable outfit. The weather it's always around 79 during the... More

We enjoyed walking around this park. the fountain was interesting with its "lactating ladies" as my husband calls it. it is a festive area with families and tourists enjoying the day. there is much to see in the adjacent areas so you can wander around and around and not get bored.

This plaza is the focal point of Antigua and therefore popular. It is an excellent meeting point and we were fortunate to hear the band playing in the squares bandstand. The day we were there was a special day when children and the newly confirmed walk the streets in celebration and they all looked lovely. Antgua however was very busy.
