I booked 3 days of lessons at short notice and I found Julio very helpful and accommodating when booking. My teacher was Maria Lorenzo, she was great, friendly and really helpful in my (complete) beginners journey in Spanish. In 3 days we were able to cover basic sentence creation, regular/irregular verbs and key vocabulary. The lessons are taken in the schools beautiful gardens which is a lovely setting to learn in. I booked the 5 hour lesson option but in future would go for 4 as it was difficult to remain focussed for this amount of time - particularly as a beginner!

I would 100% recommend this school especially the home stay program. I went to this school for 2 weeks and loved it. My teacher Silvia had a fun class for us every day. I was so happy with how much I learned. The classes take place in a beautiful garden, every Thursdays there is an activity in the afternoon, and you can choose for your Fridays class to be a field trip. The family I was living with was so nice they really took the time to sit with us during meals and speak to us. Also the food was amazing!

This school is amazing!! I came by myself for a week for six hours of instruction a day. My morning teacher was Marta Ilusion Giron and my afternoon teacher was Melisa Solís. I could not have asked for better teachers. They were patient, creative, helpful, organized, experienced, effective and everything else you would want in one-on-one instruction. My Spanish improved tremendously because of them. I would recommend this school to any and everyone. My week was fantastic!

I strongly recommend the Antiguena Spanish Academy. The teaching is the best I have ever had. Profesor Luis Alfonso Garcia was extremely helpful and profesional and therefore I learnt very quickly. He also made the experience very enjoyable and fun. The school in general is very well run and gives you lots of opportunities to explore and learn outside of the classroom as well as inside (such a visiting local farms/ museums) and finding out about the local culture whilst practicing the Spanish you learn in class. The homestay I was in (with Ana Luisa and Manuel) was perfect, varied and delicious food, a very comfortable room and home environment and lots of Spanish speaking practice. Overall 10/10.

My wife and I spent two weeks with another couple at the “Academy”. I was an intermediate speaker and my wife was a beginner. The experience was fantastic. Our instructors - Sylvia and Lucy G - were outstanding and matched our levels. The one on one instruction was a combination of grammar and conversation and we did several excursions to the market and surrounding pueblos that were both fun and informative. Since the instruction is individual, the school is good for adults and children. Can’t say enough positive things about our instructors and would highly recommend the school to anyone regardless of their level of proficiency

Our family (5 kids - ages 7-15) spent a month at Aniguena Spanish Academy. Our teachers were amazing - so thoughtful and invested in helping us learn. They varied the lessons and activities, keeping the children engaged and we all made great progress. The garden was a beautiful place to learn. Maria Elena, Paolo Garcia, Lucy Cabrera, Isabel Quintanilla, Melisa Solis, Beberly Arabia, Aurora, and Leticia Garcia.

Incredible experience with my teacher Dora! I had 5 weeks of 1 on 1 tutoring, amazing meals and great experiences in Antigua! Dora did an amazing job of assessing my level and tailoring the lessons to my needs. We had a great balance of conversation, grammar and weekly excursions to coffee plantations, pueblos and museums. The school and my homestay did a great job of not only teaching the language but also Guatemala's beautiful culture. I 100% recommend to anyone looking to learn Spanish in a beautiful place regardless of your previous Spanish experience.

I studied Spanish with my teacher Vilma, and I cannot say enough how wonderful she was! She was welcoming, friendly, and patient with me and my Spanish. That made it very easy to study Spanish with her. She is an excellent teacher and I strongly recommend that students study with her or other teachers at Antiguena Spanish Academy!

I have taken classes at many different schools in Antigua, other countries, and in the U.S. – and I really believe that there can't be any better Spanish school than Antigueña! I have been a student for years now coming for a short time each year (after wasting my time and money at other schools) - and have advanced a great deal every single visit, going from essentially a beginner to a near-fluent speaker. I would wholeheartedly recommend Antigueña and again congrats on the Award - well deserved!

We went as a family and the school did a fabulous job of accommodating our needs. They placed us with instructors that were able to assist and develop our Spanish at different levels. My instructor Aurora was fabulous patient and a sweet lady. She provided the resources for me to learn in a very comfortable way. I appreciate all that she has done for me and my family. I will be coming back to study Spanish at the Academy and absolutely choosing Aurora as my instructor. I feel with her experience and her patience. She is a great teacher and friend
