We spent a wonderful afternoon touring the local market with the owner of El Frijol Feliz. He explained the different produce, meats and foods available (in English). After the market visit, we returned to the restaurant to prepare a delicious dinner. We made Pepian, traditional Guatemalan rice, Picado de Rabano (radish salad), tortillas, and 2 deserts (mole de platanos and... More

My sister-in-law and I had an extra day in Antigua, a city we have visited several times, so we wanted something different to do. This class was perfect! We were lucky because we were the only 2 students in our class, so we received a lot of hands-on experience and learning. The chef was a real delight, funny and informative... More

We had a mixed group of adults and kids ages 9 to 13 and we all had a wonderful cooking experience!!! Our son is adopted from Guatemala and we wanted to learn how to make some authentic dishes. This was the perfect place to do that! We learned a lot and we had so much fun! They did a great... More

Three of us, including our eleven year old grand daughter, spent a really fun filled several hours learning to cook a traditional Guatemala meal at the El Frijoles Feliz Cooking School. While the private lesson took place in the kitchen of the cooking school owner's Thai restaurant (such is the nature of today's global world) the experience was all Guatemalan... More

The was an awesome experience! We did the class with another couple from Sweden and had a great time getting to know them and learning about Guatemalan food. We enjoyed the included drinks and delicious food. Our Spanish was a little rusty but we still learned a lot and had a blast!

I took my 10 year old daughter to cooking class at El Frijol Feliz Cooking School and we had a great time! My 10 year old is Guatemalan and it's important to me that she understand how to cook Guatemalan style foods! We booked easily and were greeted at the door by the owner. We met Felice, our teacher and... More

My daughter and I took this class together. When I suggested a cooking class she has no interest but begrudgingly went. After the class she said it was one of the best experiences ever! She rated it 5+!! We had the translator help as we don't speak much Spanish. I can honestly say we all laughed so hard, the time... More

I would recommend this class to everyone. The food was delicious and the instructor was wonderful. We had an interpreter which really helped us a lot.
