My family loves this park. Lots of hiking trails - open paths, woods, board walks, etc. We bring our dog a lot of times as well. We just wish there wasn't a shooting range so close. Some days that is all you can hear - gun fire. Very sad if you're looking for serenity in nature and some peace and quiet.

I live on Seidman Park and walk it on a daily basis for the past 30 years. It is a beautiful, undeveloped area with dirt trails and a few boardwalks over the swampy areas. In winter the trails are used primarily for cross country skiing and the gentle hills and terrain make it one of the best ski areas around. In the past year, however, there has been a huge influx of people who think it is ok to let their dogs run loose through the park. They have little control over them and even if they do are a problem for those of us with leashed dogs (which, by the way, is the law). Animal Control has attempted to curb this, but they just take off the leash when they are out of sight of the parking lot. Too bad as they are ruining it as a great place for both people and pups.

First, I should reveal that I live on Seidman Park. Our farm borders the park so it is my stomping ground...literaly. The park is beautiful with nicely maintained trails that turn into cross country ski trails in winter. It is large enough to take a good hour hike without repeating yourself. The only downside is that in the past few years an environmental middle school was built on the park and the kids often leave their lean- To's, trash and class projects in the park. (What happened to leave no trace??) Still, it is a gem.

Searching for peak fall color, we hiked Seidman Park October 18. Didn’t find the color we were looking for, but it was a great walk. Trails are mostly packed earth, some sand, some muck, some roots, some stumps, wide enough for two. Trails were well marked but additional unmarked trails piqued my curiosity. A peaceful walk with minor hills took us about two hours to cover all three trails.
A quick drive through the village of Ada revealed a covered bridge for foot traffic, lots of new construction, not many noticeable dining spots and the world headquarters for Amway.

There are just over 4 miles worth of trails. Most are dirt paths through wooded areas, there are some boardwalk paths through the marsh. There are plenty of elevation changes. Trails are clearly marked. Honey Creek goes through the park, a small but winding creek, very pretty. There are two parking areas. Restrooms are vault toilets. Dogs are permitted on leash. There are xc ski trails in the winter. Definitely a nice place to get outside and enjoy nature!

Superb park for hiking and XC skiing, with or without dogs. Nice stream, great hills and woods. Parking/entry on Honey Creek or Conservation.

Seidman is a hidden gem. Great for hiking or running. You can easily map out a 4 mile trail run where you only cover the same part of the trail (a boardwalk) once. The only thing to be aware of is that the trails can be pretty sloppy / muddy, especially after recent rain. Seidman is a low lying area that parts of just don't ever seem to dry out.

Enjoy a stroll in the summer or fall, come to cross country ski in the winter.
A beautiful oasis in the forest.

This is a great place to walk through the woods. There are dirt paths to follow up & down gentle hills. A great place for walking the dog too. Great in all seasons. It's particularly nice along the little river.

Hilly terrain in an older forest...just beautiful short jaunt. Leaves were turning....only comment is that once you are in the trail there are no additional maps posted.
