Let me start off by saying we have been coming to the island for 7 years and got married on island in 2017..
Always loved jetties and the sand bar ..
Yesterday’s visit was awful .. from the very start as we stood at the stand to get a table .. an elderly lady who was already eating approached the podium host stand and asked if her table might be changed because of an issue the hostess stated to her that one seated you have no ability to change so she had walked away disappointed.
After we had been seated we ordered street corn which came over completely dipped in blue cheese with a little bit of spice..dishes no knifes or forks .. as I sat there and tried to wonder how myself my husband and my teenage daughter was going to eat this corn on the cob with a bottle of blue cheese on it I watch our waitress cleaned two tables as we sat down. finally she came over and gave us dishes. All the while the corn was getting cold this was just the beginning.
We ordered our main course which my husband got a burger and the waitress asked if he would like french fries as if it was a question I didn’t say anything else of course he would want french fries with his Burger why not. and my daughter got the fish and chips.
When the food came his burger was as if it was a frozen puck that was defrosted in the microwave and thrown on a bun fries were soggy at best he then ordered a drink to make the experience a little better!
The whole time while we’re eating my daughter was getting bit by one of those biting flies under the table that just wouldn’t quit! If things couldn’t get better they did as four people were sitting above us on a different ledge overlooking the water one lady dropped her drink and it spilled all over the floor behind me splashing us not one person said sorry .. no one even came to clean it up I was done!!
I felt as if I was at a trashy dump.. i’m not exaggerating again I’ve been here many times I’ve taking pictures here eating here it’s been a great today no the bill came for $92… this meal couldn’t have even beat
out McDonald’s and that’s not an exaggeration! And buyer beware when they do ask you for fries they don’t tell you there is a 3 to 4 dollar charge on top of it even though the $14 burger should come with french fries at a place called the Sandbar! We will not return promise to the Sandbar for anything it’s unfortunate may be due to Covid etc. but there is just no excuse to have a business in Nantucket or anywhere else for that matter and be so careless and dirty this is a valid review and if you have questions please reach out! I am a well seasoned traveler I’ve been to place like Anguilla Turks and Caicos st Bart etc there is no excuse we should’ve even had an experience like we did and it’s unfortunate that I have to even write this review!

Nice environment but extremely terrible service. They not only forgot to serve but we were not given menus. I had to go remind the hostess that I was here and she was still short and rude to me. The food was fine but not worth the wait. The girl servers outfits were not kid friendly. Coke was watered down. Fries were good. Overall, food was good and service was terrible. If you really want to come, be prepared to wait.

This is such a great low key spot for amazing seafood. Their happy hour is awesome with $1 oysters, you can't beat it. It's right on the beach so you get a great view too. The lobster roll is awesome as are the shrimp tacos and fried clams. The drinks are strong and yummy. Can't wait to go back!

We have been coming to Nantucket and Jetties Beach for years and years. The beach is convenient as it is close to town and has a restaurant and restrooms. This year we had an extremely disappointing experience. The bartender was incredibly slow and inept and unbelievably rude. It was not very crowded and we should not have waited as long as we did. I ordered 4 drinks and they were undrinkable (asked for splash of lime and got half the bottle of juice in each drink). When she made the second round the same way I could only assume it was on purpose. This is my first review I have ever written for anything! We have never had an uncomfortable experience like this. If you go to jetties beach avoid this bartender. She is extremely rude, unprofessional, with a RBF. She is quite rotund, short with dark hair. My only guess is that she is the owner's daughter to still have her job. When we asked her to remake the drinks she said we were going to have to wait and walked away. When she saw me talking to the manager, she ran right back to the bar and made the drinks. All the while she was disparaging us to other employees and customers within earshot and very conspicuously. We are not kids and are very easy going. The manager btw, was not very helpful. Ugh.

Jetties beach is great for kids and also has a nearby playground. It’s easy to get to from town, plenty of parking, and serviced by the local bus shuttle. As for the restaurant, It’s a great setting with a nice relaxed atmosphere. It’s pricy for a beach concession however this is Nantucket after all. The wait-staff are friendly enough but the management is downright rude. We had a complaint about the food once it finally arrived. The manager was completely dismissive of our complaint and seemed to be more interested in giving us a hard time for his staff’s enjoyment. Over many years of restaurant dining that will go down as one of our worst experiences. The place is very busy during the summer months but put that down to lack of affordable (relatively speaking) options rather than good food or service. Enjoy yourself if you do go but whatever you do, don’t complain!

We had a great walk up and down Jetties Beach admiring the many shells and birds and marveling at the folks entering the frigid waters! Two of them were in full wet suits with gear searching for lost treasures and the other gent was in a swinsuit! We were freezing just looking at him standing in the water to his knees.

This beach is a great option for small children because of it's location on the harbor side. At low tide a sandbar is exposed which offers lots of exploring opportunities. Also, you will find full services here - restaurant, bar with late afternoon music, restrooms, chair and umbrella rentals, etc.

Jetties Beach is very calm and safe for children and families. The water was warmer at this beach than Surfside and obviously a lot, lot calmer. Great soft sand and also offered facilities including a sit down restaurant and bar. Just gr3at!
