Macedonia is a gorgeous country, with countless hidden vistas that can only be seen with some hard work. Our two-day trek to Korab Waterfall was difficult at times, but the views, the campfire dinner, the STARS, the ice-cold glacier water, the ajvar, and the new friends we made (or guides and little Lana, a tough little one-eyed dog) made it all worth it.

Any casual hiker or fit person will do just fine, but if there is ever a time where you feel unsure about the trail ahead, your guides at Macedonia Tours will talk you through it and have you looking forward to what's over the next hill in no time.

This trek is our favorite memory from Macedonia!

Amazing 4 days with one of the guides from Macedonia Tours. We planned together the 4 days of the trip. The team of Macedonia tours was very flexible and made sure that all our wishes came true. The guide was amazing! I feel like we not just visited the country, but actually got to know her.
Thank you!

Macedonia-Tours made our adventure holiday an excellent one, without any hitches! I got in touch with them by email before going abroad to which they always answered promptly. We booked the '2 Day Top of Macedonia Tour' with them which is a great trek with overnight camping on Jakupica Mount. The guide,Filip Chakarov, called for us from our hostel, was very friendly and fluent in English, very informative, motivating and undoubtedly the best trekking guide one could ask for :) We also had a tailor made one day tour planned just for us as different members of the group wanted to do different activities in Lake Ohrid, namely paragliding and mountain biking. Again, a friendly guide, Radan Mitrovic, called for us, organized pick up points etc and spent the day with us. He suggested places to go to, took us to a beautiful restaurant and was great company. They also organised a horse riding tour for us. I can't praise this company enough. Thanks to Blagoja and Borce, our trip to Macedonia was successful and we will definitely contact them again if we visit the place once more :)

Trying to find special activities to do in Bitola was a little difficult. We came across Macedonia Tours over the internet and organized a downhill mountain bike ride from the top of Pelister. Our group is into adventure sports so this seemed like an ideal way to see some nature and have some fun. The trip began with a 2 hour hike up hill until we finally reached a small glacial lake and warmed up with some Rakija and ate some really nice local Ajvar and Burek.

The nature and views was stunning and when we where finally ready for our descend, we strapped on our helmets and body armor with our charming blond guide giving us a safety over view. The downhill course was very challenging (we did the extreme path), going through rocky terrain then moving into a forest setting. Our adrenalin was pumping and we had to stop several time to catch our breath, what an exhilarating experience! This is a must to for any experienced mountain bike riders.
This tour was our highlight of our trip to Macedonia.

We traveled with Smarttrans Sofia on this day trip, and their service was excellent, just as it was the previous day when we visited Rila Monastery. Their driver/guide, Tony, picked us up from our apartment and drove us to Skopje, for our 11-hour day tour. He is educated and knowledgeable, pleasant and agreeable, and speaks English well. He tried very hard to find decent rest stops on the way, but, unfortunately, many were abandoned, guess due to lack of business. Nevertheless, we visited all the sights, it's a lovely little town, with a lot of ancient history, but a lot of poverty too. We were delighted to visit the memorial to Mother Theresa, which was erected on the site of the church where she was baptized. A lot of walking and climbing, but the drive from Sofia to Skopje is well worth the visit, driving through the mountains and the evergreens is a sight which we don't get to see in New York.

We were a group of 8 people and stayed a week in Skopje. Macedonia Tours provided us with the opportunity to engage in two remarkable experiences. First we did a wonderful two day hike on Ljuboten Mountain. The hiking tour guide made the experience much more pleasant for us. He was professional, knowledgeable, caring, and above all he was fun and had an amazing sense of humour. The other experience we did with Macedonia Tours was paragliding. The paragliding instructors were professional and made sure that they offered us a blissful experience above lake Ohrid. After paragliding, we ended the day with a lovely tour in Ohrid city. I totally recommend Macedonia tours for other travellers who are interested in hiking tours, paragliding, skydiving, and other outdoor activities and extreme sports.

I was planning a downhill descent from Pelister with my brother for a couple of years now. So this year I finally found a guided tour and we decided to go. Since they have a couple of options depending on the difficulty of the descent, we chose the extreme option. We met in Bitola with our guide Johnny, had breakfast and a little chat about which path is the best for us. The guys from Macedonia Tours were great, they were very flexible and took into consideration all of our wishes. Our main wish was to experience the best downhill paths on the mountain. The mountain Pelister itself is really breathtaking and worth visiting, but combined with a downhill ride, it was an amazing experience. The ride was demanding and full of adrenaline, if you don't have some experience with mountain biking, go for one of the easiest options, after all it is a dangerous sport. The whole biking trip took us about 4 hours, Johnny was a great guide and an excellent company, he is a fun guy. The bikes that we had were quality full suspension bikes, the bike saved me from falling a couple of times. All in all, it was an amazing day and experience and we will be repeating the tour next year.
