This was a highlight of my visit. There is a kayak hire-store located at the base of the lake for those who're into a more active holiday. You can travel to see a cave which takes about 30 mins for the inexperienced kayak boater . There is also tourboats if you're less mobile. The restaurant near here had some incredible... More

Worth going to. You can get the number 60 bus from the bus station. Takes about 45 mins. The lake is lovely. The walks are also good. Stunning views. Ate at the hotel there. Quite expensive. But ok food.

It is a nice place to go, Very close to the city. Around 20 euros if you go by taxi. Better to have lunch in the restaurant on the bottom

Very beautiful nature, worth to visit it. The walk took us 1,5 hour till the end with taking pictures. We also tried restaurant which was fine. We ordered Salip - sweet white drink with cinnamon and hot chocolate (without cream). Possible to pay by card, for entering to canyon is no fee.

A very nice place to visit. I'd recommend going there when it's warm and sunny. You can rent a boat or a kayak and drive around the lake and into the canyon.

This place is freaking awesome! You can take a bus at the main bus station where it's written Matka (Матка), at least one per hour. Then it's a walking path of about 30mn depending on your stops, etc...to reach the extra tiny village of Matka. From here, I recommend you to take a boat trip to go to the cave... More

Lake Matka is one of the most stunning places to visit when you are in Skopje. You can rent a car, bike or use the bus to get there. The view is amazing and breathtaking. When you arrive there you can have a nice launch or drinks and enjoy the view. At site you can rent a boat and take... More

This is a gorgeous place just outside of Skopje. There are rapids and the continuation of the river Vardar below that dam at Matka. Above the dam, there is a restaurant, hotel, and boat/kayak rental. The clear, blue water will amaze you. You can hike along the sides of the canyon which follows the water. They also have boat rides... More
