Without a rental car, visiting Kosovo’s cities of Pristina and Prizren from Skopje in a day is near impossible. This private tour steps up: with minivan transport and a local guide to show you around and detail the sights. Discover Pristina’s Monastery of Gracanica and other landmarks before delving into Prizren’s Ottoman-era Old Town of mosques, churches, mansions, and markets. There square is immense and dominated by the mammoth statuary that is so common in the city. Sit by the fountain and watch Skopje walk by.

Not made for Tourists. Though the entire Square is very attractive, any tourist not able to read the Cyrillic alphabet would be completely lost. Many, many beautiful statues of no doubt important and notable people...but who are they? All the name plates and descriptions are in Cyrillic. Though the descriptions can't be in all foreign languages....maybe English. In the heart of the summer tourist season, why is there no tourist booth with guides and brochures to explain the significance of the Square and of the statues? Very interesting museums, especially that of the Macedonian Struggle. Still, why charge tourist 3x's the price for locals.? What an opportunity for University students that have studied languages, English, French, Dutch, German, to act as Tour Ambassadors, to wander the square with brochures and talk with the tourists. What do non Macedonian speaking tourists think of this Square when they don't know anything about it? Very strange and very short sighted of the city and country governments."Build it, and they will come"....but they won't know what they saw.

We really loved the city center of Skopje, even though it is pretty new, with a ton of statues all around. The city had to be completely rebuild after the earthquake of 1963, and they did a great job. The giant statue of Alexander The III dominates the whole area, an absolute must do!

Very modern square right in the heart of the city. If you like dudes on horses, then this is probably the biggest you'll see. And it's apparently even officially titled Warrior on a Horse for political reasons...
