    Immerse in the culture
Old Bazaar is a definite must visit. Visit in the day and at night for two different experiences. Walk through the different shops, restaurants and stores and enjoy the ambiance. Sip some rakia, and enjoy like the locals do. This area is a totally lively one and I guarantee you will not be bored. You can also get lots of souvenirs in this to purchase at reasonable prices. Go and enjoy.

    Colourful and busy
Wow - I had no idea how big this would be. A real surprise - but a great way to spend a few hours. Such a variety to be sold. Unfortunately I was followed around by an overzealous store holder. I’d take a step, she’d take a step. I understand she possibly has a problem with shoplifting, but didn’t find it pleasant. Aside that - fantastic

    QUAINT COBBLED NARROW CHARMING WALKWAYS
The Old Bazaar is a huge maze of main and narrow walkways with shops and street vendors everywhere. It's a place where old meets new with traditional Turkish wear, restaurants, market stalls where you can buy anything from a wedding dress to a fake Louis Vuitton beanie hat. The streets are narrow with cobbled stones and unlike many souks abroad there's no one trying desperately to usher you into their shop which can be annoying. Personally. I didn't buy anything but it was a very lovely walk around seeing the different shops and people watching

    Worth a Visit
I joined a one-day local tour from Sophia to Skopje. Had 4 hours in Skopje city centre including a walk here. Although it cannot be compared with other bazaars like those in Turkey or Tunis in terms of scale and variety of things to see, I find this bazaar worth a visit still. Found a local eatery for quick lunch. I felt safe too in this city.

    Old Bazaar Memories
My favorite place in Skopje! From small restaurants with local food to antique shops and so many museums and cafes, the Old Bazaar has a thing for everyone. If your planning to go with small kids, it's not stroller friendly as it is with coble stone

    Old meets new
The old Bazaar is more than just market stalls and shops. Within this maze of cobbled streets and alleys, one can find galleries, mosques, museums, traditional and modern restaurants and bars, many cafes with great turkish coffee, and of course traditional ware and souvenirs. I liked that we were never hassled when walking by a shop and the shop keepers were all friendly. We returned a second time at night for a different perspective, with the lights and the call to prayer. One can easily spend 3-4 hours just wandering around and taking in the atmosphere.

The Old Bazaar is almost like a time machine that embodies a part of Macedonian history. Moreover, it allows one to understand how multicultural North Macedonia is.
A very pleasant atmosphere, people are welcoming and respectful towards the interest shown in their products, that is, they are not too persistent to proactively motivate you to buy something.
Plenty of small local specialized shops (e.g., candles, hats, sweets...), local restaurants/cafes serve both: European and local cuisine for decent prices, and the staff has sufficient English knowledge.
There are many hidden gems (both: places and stores) on smaller streets, therefore, don't hesitate to be curious and explore the Old Bazaar. If you are in the right mood, you can try to bargain with the shop owners about some goods :)

Great part of town and reminded me of the old town in Sarajevo which I'm really fond of. The Ottoman influence is strong and adds variety to the city. Definitely worth a visit.

Definitely worth visiting and wandering the car-free streets. You probably won't buy anything though... Plenty of places to eat. A couple of modern and too large buildings have recently been built, but they are a rare blot.

What a great morning wandering the narrow alleyways. We were early, about 9.30, and had the place to ourselves. Shoes, gold, umbrellas hanging from the ceiling.
When you have shopped enough go and get a cay (tea) and gozelme (?) from the traditional shop. £2.50 for 2 and was enough for a light lunch! Delish ladies making the pastries in the window were lovely and proud of their traditions (rightly so).

A great selection of small winding streets with a wide range of shops and restaurants. One of the nicest aspects is that none of the shop keepers are forceful or hassle you when walking past, and it doesn’t have any of the expected pressure you’d imagine when reading up on the area. There’s clearly a lot of history and some nice monuments as you’re passing through, and with plenty of cafes and restaurants you can easily spend a whole day exploring at a leisurely pace. Definitely one of the highlights of the city.

We could easily spend a few hours wandering around the old bazaar and watching the locals going about their business. The gold street where they sell wedding gowns and gold and silver jewellary was particularly interesting. There are many good restaurants and cafes hidden amongst the shops and stalls too. Definately worth a visit.
