This attraction is visible from the streets of Skopje and one do not want to miss visiting this place which is seen almost from everywhere. The Millennium Cross (Macedonian: Милениумски крст, Mileniumski krst) is a 66 metre (217 ft) high cross situated on the top of the Vodno Mountain in Skopje, it was constructed to serve as a memorial of... Had a nice easy hike to the top of the cross along with my friends on a cold windy day. Views from the top are truly amazing, seeing all the way into Albania. There's a nice cafe on top for refreshments. We took a steep trail literally following the ski lift. Easy to reach from Skopje, one can also take... More

At night the cross is lightened and despite the misty environment of Skopje, it can be seen from every corner of the city which is home to many muslim people. It is said that during the Ottoman Empire rule, it was forbidden to build and church whcih is higher than the mosques in Skopje. It looks like a revenge of... More

You can visit it by car, by bus, walking or by rope gondola which i prefer the best. Nice place to stay for a couple of hours on fresh air on about 800 meters above the sea level. Not much for eating or drinking but there is restaurant and breath taking views of Skopje and its surroundings.

Aside from the awkward waiting in line for the rigid time window the cable car company sets the ride and summit was fantastic. It had just snowed which provided a lot of scenic beauty. Pretty cheap to ride the cable car too. Kinda awkward to get to as well--the taxi ride cost more than the cable car ride.

I went on a Sunday but it was raining and already couldn't see much by the time we got to the bottom of the cable car, so we didn't bother going up. The next day, I waited over an hour for the "Millenium Cross" bus to the cable car, and was then told that it was closed because it's Monday.... More
