- delagioventuLuxembourg City, Luxembourg1,355 contributionsLovely viewsYou can see it from downtown, but also take a cable car to get there. From the centre, a cab would cost you around 400 denar, to the start of the cable car, which is 200 denar. Lovely views from above.Visited August 2023Traveled with familyWritten August 13, 2023
- JoanNeithWatford, United Kingdom101 contributionsLovely view from the mountainVisited on a Sunday via the free number 25 bus from Skopje. The drive up the mountain was enjoyable with windy road. As a solo traveller I ended up joining a group of other solo travellers to get the cable car to the top. It had some odd hours as we had to wait half an hour for it to reopen in the afternoon. At the base of the cross there is a nice view of the surroundings. There was a small shop for drinks/ice creams.Visited July 2023Traveled soloWritten August 14, 2023
- Coryy20Port of Spain, Trinidad4,837 contributionsThe most special thing in MacedoniaI don't know about anyone else but this cross is very special. When it is lighted at nights it brings a sense of peace and calmness to the city of Skopje. It is truly a great idea whoever came up with it. From a distance when approaching the city this lighted cross seems to welcome you or the light just guides you home. It warms my heart every time I see it whether in a video or reminiscing about my time there. It is located on top of Mount Vodna. It is worth taking a a cable car ride up to see it close up .it is one big metal structure.Visited November 2022Traveled soloWritten August 29, 2023
- jordanellie41Longridge, United Kingdom1,064 contributionsNICE TO SEE BUT NOTHING SPECTACULARThe cross can be seen at the top of Mount Vodno and is accessed by cable car or by hiking. I hiked the Sonje pass from Sonje village which took 45 minutes. It's a giant cross made with metal mesh design and looks around 50 feet tall. It makes for some good photos but in my opinion it's nothing spectacular. However all the views will hide your possible disappointment with the cross itselfVisited November 2023Traveled soloWritten December 2, 2023

25a is the free bus up to the base of cable car. 100 den (£1) return trip per adult. Views were breathtaking on the cable car. At the top what a mess. Yes views are beautiful but these are detracted from but the immense grot. A good tidy up is desperately needed.
Cable car down was again lovely, but bus trip back to Skopje was hideous. Too many people pushing and shoving so the bus was totally overloaded and left us uneasy but we couldn’t get off even if we tried! Wait by the end of the car park for a taxi is my advice! Don’t get off the cable car either!!

This is the first and last thing we saw while in Skopje. From our approach on the plane, till taking off on the way out, it lights up the sky. It can also be seen from pretty much anywhere in the city, and adds to a really charming city.

Fantastic view and outdoor experience 🙏
So many people here who are enjoy the sunny weather and playground for the kids. There’s a kiosk here wherevyou can by some snacks and something to drink. You can take the cablecar up and down if you want or just oneway ticket. It’s cheap, 200 denar for two bothway. Enjoy your stay 👌😊

Great views. Caught a cab from the center for $311mkd. Was dropped off at the cable cars. $100mkd for round trip to the top. Very cool 360 views. Not much up top. A few places to grab a beer or soda. Disappointed to see so many street dogs😢. Wish I brought some food. Really sad to see them rummage thru garbage for food. I decided to walk back down to the city. There is a clearly marked foot path. A bit challenging at times (it is steep in some places) but worth the adventure. Took me about an hour. I’m 64 year old female.. felt very safe and enjoyed the solitude.

The Millennium Cross is one of Skopje's expressions and dedication to their Christian heritage. Its size and scale are impressive. Its located outside of the city center, but in a small suburb area that is very residential and nice.
Its a nice attraction to visit while in Skopje and connects you to the Macedonian people through their culture and heritage.

Nice view to the other side of Vodno mountain.
There is a lot of telecommunication antennas at the top. And some of them are directed right through the places where people relaxes (for example cafe). For me it's uncomfortable. the tower under construction near is a telecommunications tower. Maybe they are going to move all of these antennas to that tower...
25 bus (to cable car station) stops not only at central bus station but also closer to the city centre. Most convinient place to sit on - Плоштад Македонија station. It is intersection of Димитри Чуповски and Македониja street. It arrives there approx. 15 minutes after departure from central station. You can also get off the bus here.
I attached timetable foto from the central bus station (august 2018).

Nothing subtle about this landmark (which by the way is lit up like a gas station at night. Towering over a city where not everyone is a Christian, vulgarly lit up at night ... I avoid looking at it whenever I am in town.

Hi, the bus departures from the city railway station every half an hour, starting from 8 in the morning till 18h in the afternoon. In the period from 10 to 12h is going every 20min. However, you can also wait for it at the Record station in the city center if it is more suitable for you. You can check the schedule at the city transport web page jsp.mk
