The campus is so beautiful and the school is very encouraging to people who just walk through. One of the fields has been turned into a wild flower field. In the summer it is so magnificent to see. We saw it as the sun set. Imagine a golden sun illuminating a golden field of flowers! You couldn't find a more... More

The most interesting museum I've visited in a while. The story is inspiring and the museum's docent was knowledgeable. Excellent 4 hour visit!!!

I attended Hampshire from 1993-1998. It's DEFINITELY not for everyone, but I chose it over Bennington, Bard, Marlboro, Antioch, Reed, NYU, SUNY Purchase and Emerson. In some regards, it WAS the best choice for me: indpendent and critical study, narrative evaluation instead of grades, and the building of a student portfolio of work. There were times I struggled at Hampshire,... More

I was at Hampshire College to attend my nieces wedding at The Red Barn on campus. It was a lovely setting for an outdoor wedding the reception at The Red Barn was both rustic and elegant at the same time.

Our son is entering his third year at Hampshire. His experience to this point has been incredible. The "out of the box" concept has allowed him and his fellow students to be creative in thought and action yet still maintain an academic culture. I believe that this style of education is the future of our society as it makes the... More

When we first visited Hampshire with my twin daughters, we went because they had a discussion and tour going out in the morning and we had extra time before hitting Mount Holyoke, Amherst, Smith, and UMASS. It was a game changer. At first my artist daughter, who craved art school in NYC groaned - all we could see was the... More

No one can find advisors, they are all too busy and the college is falling apart, if you have never needed attention def. drugs you can easily get then here at their health facility.

For the price, 55K+ a year, they should let their education students know that most of their education classes will be taken at other schools, like UMASS or Mt. Holyoke. The dorms are disgusting, the food service a rip off -- that said, the faculty and administration were excellent to deal with as a parent, as student seemingly indifferent.

My daughter graduated from this college, We got to know the college campus very well! It is a very nice cllege, situated in the hills in Amherst, apple orchards, with a splendid view of the mountain/ seven sisters! It has manicured grounds and one of the 5 college consortium in this valley! Nearby is the Eric Carl children's museum just adjacent... More

The campus looked a bit seedy, especially the odd dorm buildings. We were told that very few students live there. The bus commute to the other 5 College campuses is a bit long. It seems a bit far off from everything, which could be good for some.
