About
The New England Sports Park is a place like no other. The park boasts the steepest and fastest snow tubing hill in New England and offers 6 lanes for snow tubing. There are currently 400 tubes that can be operated when the park is at full capacity. Two lifts service the hill - a conveyor belt lift that guests stand on and an old fashioned handle tow lift that allows riders to sit in their tube as they are pulled up to the top of the hill. Once at the top of the hill, guests are permitted to link up in groups and slide down together or ride solo. There is an onsite restaurant and bar (Crossbar Pub) which offers traditional pub fare including pizza, burgers, salads, appetizers, hot chocolate, cold beer and more. Looking for something fun to do with the kids during New Hampshire February school vacation week? The Amesbury Sports park has discounts and deals for winter fun! Military personnel get FREE snow tubing admissions with valid ID. The park features artificial turf fields which can be used for soccer, rugby, lacrosse, football, field hockey, and cricket. There is a full service function hall onsite. The private function room can accommodate up to 150 guests, or the entire facility itself can be rented for private outings. Relay races and obstacle course packages are available for team building outings, and snow tubing birthday party packages are offered for kids. Offsite catering is available to fit any budget.

This review describes my Zorbing experience at Amesbury Sports Park, MA.
Zorbing had been on my bucket list for about 5 years. We were finally travelling to a place that had a place to Zorb during the right time of the year -- Amesbury Sports Park, MA!
We turned up for opening time on a weekday in September. After paying $20 and signing the paperwork in the restaurant, you get your ticket to Zorb.
You then stand on a moving uphill walkway for what seems like forever in order to get to the top of the hill. (You're not allowed to 'walk' on the walkway, just stand). At the top, they instruct you to take off your shoes, which you place in a bag (The shoes then magically get transported to the bottom of the hill for when you arrive!).
After strapping you in (around the ankles, over the shoulders and around the middle), they open the gate and the Zorb sets in motion!
You hang on to handles over your head and go over and over approx. 20 times down the grassy track. There was a very 'g-force' feeling, so if you don't like roller-coasters, you probably won't like this!
At the bottom, you get out and put on your shoes and that's it! (You can pay for another turn, but I took a 'We'll see what it's like' approach and once was enough for me!)
I enjoyed it, but I think they could have made SO MUCH MORE out of it as far as marketing opportunities. It would be really great if they sold you a photo, video or T-shirt of the Zorbing experience. It was dead quiet when we went and the whole experience was a bit lack-luster and
anti-climatic.The staff also seemed a bit 'over it'. However, it was a nice facility and I felt safe during the experience.

The staff was friendly and the tubing hill was well-tended and fun, but the management during vacation week was problematic. Within an hour of opening, the park was extremely crowded. They tried to manage the crowds as well as possible, but by the time they temporarily halted admitting people , it was already out of control. Additionally, it took almost an hour before all the lanes were open and both lifts were running. They did offer an additional hour to everyone's admission ticket, but unfortunately, we couldn't take advantage of that. With small children, waiting 35 min in line for each run is just not reasonable. We ended up spending 48 dollars for two people to take 4 runs, spread over 2 hours. Disappointing.
I understand that this is a very busy week, but that is also expected during school vacation weeks. Planning and management probably should have planned for this better.

Thanks for sharing your experience with us. We're glad to hear you enjoyed our staff and tubing hill. We experienced record breaking attendance this week, which was far beyond any reasonable projections we could have made. We called in extra staff to respond to the demand and reacted as quickly as possible. We hope that you will return to visit another time and can experience our Park when we are not at full capacity. Our team is considering your comments as we strive for 100% guest satisfaction.

We arrived and ate a leisurely lunch at the sports bar there before paying our money to tube and Zorb. They have a system where you are assigned to a 15 minute time slot for both the harness and water Zorbs. If we had understood this we would have paid and gotten a time slot when we arrived since the next open time slots were over an hour wait (just a suggestion if you are in the same situation). The food and drinks were good enough in the sports bar and you have a nice view of the hill that has the tubing and zorbing while you eat.
We really enjoyed the tubing and went up many times. We got in the line for the Zorbs about 5 minutes before our time slot. We then waited about 45 minutes until we actually got into the Zorb. You wait next to the area where the tubes are pushed down so there is something to watch, but 45 minutes of waiting in the sun is a lot. As other people have mentioned, it seems like there is room for efficiency improvement in the system. But it was a great ride. My husband and I went with our 4 year old. She was very excited for it, but in the end didn't like the confined space.

We tried to go on February vacation (mistake!). An hour after the park opened we were put on a waiting list and told we could eat in the restaurant upstairs. Upstairs was mayhem with no place to sit and completely overcrowded! I'm sure this place is fun when it's not vacation but I would definitely stay away on vacation week. A complete bust!

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience. MA school vacation week is our busiest time of the year, and we do our best to communicate wait times and peak times clearly to our guests. When the hill is at capacity, we invite guests to come inside so they don't have to wait in the cold. Typically, the quietest times to enjoy the Park are after 4 pm during holidays or vacation weeks, or during non vacation weeks - Thursdays and Fridays. Also weekend peak times are typically mid day, so first thing in the morning or after 4 pm are typically quietest. We hope to see you again soon!

It looks like a fabulous park. Well located, with nice lighting and a great slope. Unfortunately, it is closed since at least one year. But they have not changed their web site. Don't get sucked in, like we did! Waste of time and gas!

It is a pleasant, reasonably-priced tubing park that was not terribly crowded when we went (mid-week, during NH school vacation week). We got a $5/person discount for bringing in canned goods - a special they were running that week. I particularly liked how there were plenty of staff members to help push you off at the top and then also at the bottom to shield you from other incoming tubes as you made your way back across the lanes. I also liked how we could go down 2-4 people at a time if we wanted to.

Every once in a while we take our three families, 15 people plus the wife and I, to this tubing park. WOW! The kids, ranging in age from 5 to 18, all have a full day of complete FUN. The guys and girls that work here are all in great spirits and work hard to make everyone happy. We always manage to find someone at the top of the hill that will really click with us and give us a great spin or shove off the top. We can't recommend this place enough. Then we all head in to the lodge and have a bite to eat. Great food, great service and bear, wine and alcohol for the grown ups!If you have kids and they like sliding and the cold you have got to visit this place!

I called to set up a private group putting and worked with Kevin-he is the height of professionalism and outstanding. He coordinated a private group event and we arrived that day to OGO and tube everything went off flawlessly. The OGOing is a hoot-lots of great fun and worth the money. I would HIGHLY recommend working with this group on a private event or corporate outing-especially if you have the honor of working with Kevin-great times!

As another reviewer remarked this place is closed but the website is still up. I’m glad I didn’t rely on the website Nd drive down from Maine.
I was looking for a place to perform an extreme sport in my storm trooper costume for GISH the Greatest International Scavenger Hunt and they used to have “Zorbing” track.
It was only when I tried the phone numbers to ask about the cost and availability that I discovered the numbers were no longer in service.
Instead I went rappelling in Camden Maine and had a blast!

We went here over February Vacation, we tried to buy tickets online days beforehand but you can not. I called the day before to inquire about how to ensure we would get tickets since I couldn't buy them online. The women was nice and said just come an hour before the scheduled time to buy them and that they have not sold out yet during vacation. They only sell tickets for specific blocks of time, 10-2-/ 2-5 and 5-8. We got there at 1:00 stood in a crazy long line there was only one ticket window opened where you had to buy tickets and fill out waivers. At 2:45 people that were in front of the line started yelling and telling all of us that they were sold out. They shut the window and put a sign sold out. I was leaving but the kids really wanted to tube so I finally found and employee who said yes they would be selling tickets for the 5-8 session, great so I went to buy them but was told I couldn't it was too early (it was 3:15) they would start selling at 4:00 so I could get back in line then. I decided to go get my kids food in the lodge to kill an hour, there were no seats upstairs so I went back down to the snack part but they couldn't take debit cards and their atm didn't work . So no food for anyone. Back down to wait in line, my friend had a gift card from a year or so ago but was told she couldn't use it because they are no longer Amesbury sports park, even though the big sign said it was. She says they are New England Sports park now, and guess what you couldn't use your credit card their machines are broken. Left drove to a bank came back and ran into another friend who was there and managed to get tickets but was leaving because her kids had only gotten to go down the hill 3 times from 2:00-4:40. We did finally buy our tickets with cash and the kids got to tube for about an hour. It gets pretty dark, they put on some lights on the bottom of the hill but never turned on the lights on the hill. The snack bar was closed ( at 6:00) so when they were freezing and we finally had cash you couldn't buy anything so we finally left. I will never be going here again, definitely worth driving a little further to an actual ski place.

How many trails are there available to snow tube down?
Are there lifts available to get from bottom to top with tube?
Any other events going on during the weekend at same location? That you can attend/watch either before or after your scheduled snow tubing time during the weekend?
Hotels in area with both child and adult friendly amenities? For instance indoor basketball hoop? Outdoor hot tub?
Thank you!

Hi,
Unfortunately children must be at least 4 years old to go tubing down the hill. Children between the ages of 4 and 6 are required to wear a helmet and they will also have their own tube but must go down the hill with an adult holding onto their tube. Tickets are the same price for both children and adults, $25.
