This area is unique, historic and comfortable. Main street itself is commercial, but there are so many byways leading to less-travelled areas that you can easily get away. The city dock area is commercial and can be crowded and feels a bit worn in places, but again, you can easily get away and look at the boats and lovely waterfront.... More

We walked in Annapolis for 3 days seeing the State House, the Naval Academy, Eastport, the city dock area, a few museums, shopping areas, State buildings and many more attractive sights. The location of the City on the water is beautiful. Our stay at Gibson's Lodgings was great, too. Even a rainy Monday did not put a damper on our... More

We recently visited Annapolis for the first time to celebrate our anniversary. We love going to areas that have boats, marinas, and water views. We've liked our visits to Baltimore and were thinking Annapolis might be similar. For us, it is many times better. Apparently the town of Annapolis was spared the demolition other seaport towns experienced during the industrial... More

Don't miss walking through downtown historic Annapolis...The bricked streets are just lovely and so many historic buildings are cool to see. Lots of shops and places to eat...Near the Annapolis State Building and the harbor..Great little day trip.

We planned 2 nights into our tour and wished that we had stayed longer. A very attractive destination, plenty to do, excellent restaurants, good accommodation options and friendly locals. OK it's a bit touristy in parts, but hell - so are many other places worth visiting. If you have the time take the opportunity to drive down the west side... More

Annapolis is always seeped in history due to the Naval Academy but also has it's own interesting place in our past. Worth getting data from the Tourist office on West Street and start walking the quaint street. Nothing that far plus plenty of places for refreshments

Even on this rainy overcast fall day, it nice to walk around Annapolis and enjoy. The parking was plentiful and the streets not packed with people. Walking from the water up Main St. around St. Anne's church over to State Circle and beyond is always a pleasure.

We went to Annapolis for a long weekend. Very beautiful historic town, which was a bustling seaport 200 years ago. Now it is a beautiful tourist destination. One of the big attractions is the Annapolis Navy academy, which is right downtown. Worth the visit. The town is very cute and walkable. It has nice restaurants, shops, bars and a theatre.... More

I like downtown Annapolis because it has a small city feel, yet offers all the amenities of a big city. There is no shortage of shops (Both chain and independent) and a fine assortment of cafes and watering holes. This is all clustered in a convenient and manageable neighborhood. As always, there is a fine nautical feel to the place.

There are enough historic sites and pretty gardens sprinkled around this well preserved area to make it interesting with a lot shopping and eating and tourist price boat tours.
