Worth a small side trip, the Maryland WW2 Memorial will remind you of the many veterans who sacrificed for our freedom. Of course, Annapolis is a Navy town, so the reminders of ALL the services who participated is a good thing. This is a 10-20 minute visit - worth the stop.

The day view from this site is great, but the night view is stunning. Have a bite to eat at the Severn Inn and spend some time at the pier at sunset and then drive up to the Memorial and check out the incredible views and ambience.

There are several steps to get up to the memorial which probably makes it more difficult for our WWII veterans to come see it, but once there you are rewarded with a beautiful solemn memorial. It is inscribed with the names of 6,454 Marylanders who died in World War II It has views of the Naval Academy, Chesapeake Bay, and... More

We took an hour trolley tour around Annapolis and were able to see this memorial. It is very well done in a beautiful setting high enough to overlook the bay and Annapolis.

Very good memorial to see. At the top area, it also overlooks the United States Naval Academy. Beautiful site. Must be able to walk up several steps.

This was the first place we visited in Annapolis. You can take a left directly into the monument from the highway. There is a small parking space just behind the monument. It was almost empty when we reached there in the afternoon. There is a viewpoint just above the monument and there are two pathways around the monument that take... More

We found it by accident on our way to Cantlers. Cam back to take pictures of the Naval Academy. Very nice spot and nice tribute

This stop on the trolley tour of Annapolis provides a very brief opportunity to honour those who have given their lives for freedom. It would be appropriate, for those with independent transport, to have a little more time here. A well presented memorial, set on a hillside outside the main city area and providing views back across the water to... More

Enjoyed the self guided tour of the Memorial while on the Trolley tour in Annapolis. 15 min. was enough time to see the memorial and appreciate the men who lost their lives for our freedom!

I've lived South of Annapolis my hole life so I never knew about this memorial or it's location until recently. I decided to check it out. Not only is it a great memorial honoring all that served in every theatre of WW II but it's a great view of down town Nap Town.
