Somewhat unknown Fort, but a fun and historic place to visit. Make sure you take the guided tour of the fort - - it was an excellent tour. Otherwise it's just another fort.

I love history and have visited several old forts in the region, and the tour of Fort Western was the best I've experienced! One of the neatest aspects of this fort is that most of it is original; a few replicas of boats and props...More

We were very glad they were open on Sunday! The fort itself was very cool and full of amazing things. Our guide was very wordy and couldn't keep the attention of my kids with the long tangents of the history of Fort Western.

Thank you for your comments. Fort Western's missions is to "Preserve, Protect and Interpret" this National Landmark fort, store, house & tenement. Educational program is of major importance to us and nearly all membership, admissions and program fees go back into our educational program.
