It’s a self guided tour. Very entertaining and enjoyable. It was staffed with very friendly people who gave a little more information.
The store at the end is quirky and fun.
Absolutely try the Tabasco ice cream!
Despite the fact that it is off the beaten path, this is a very interesting place to visit. The exhibits are very well marked and easy to follow. I was amazed at the variety of Tabasco samples in the gift shop. After the Tabasco tour,...More

We were on Avery Island and we couldn't pass up the Tabasco Factory, even though the product is too vinegary for our taste.
It was a quiet morning, and though there were buses in the parking lot, we never saw busloads of people.

It is a working factory and production schedules vary, so call the visitor center closer to your visit date and ask or else arrange your schedule so you can make the trek to the island on a Friday instead. When a line is running there are signs posted telling you what product is being made and where it is being shipped. The tour is still impressive whether anything is being botttled or not.
