Founded in 1986, Abita was the first craft brewery to open in the Southeast. Today, we produce 160,000 barrels of beer annually in a range of great tasting, unpretentious styles including Abita Amber, Purple Haze, and Wrought Iron IPA. Located just north of New Orleans, we recently completed a three-year, $30 million state-of-the-art expansion of the brewery that will increase our capacity to 400,000 barrels while introducing groundbreaking environmental advancements to the brewing process.

I have loved Abita beer since I first tasted it in New Orleans. Was excited when my friend had booked this as part of our vacation. With your five bucks you get a tour and four drink tokens. The brewery is top of the line, and I have seen nothing like it. All the staff were excellent. Loved tasting the... More

I went with a couple friends of mine who live just south in Mandeville. The tour is $5 and requires credit card or debit card payment - no cash. The cost actually ended up being $5.49 with LA tax - didn't know that was taxable. Oh well. The tour around the facility was somewhat short, but interesting. As part of... More

Was driving down I-12 on our way to Slidell and saw the Abita Springs sign and thought what the heck. We made it there about an hour before closing and we were not rushed. All of the beers we tried were nice, all though some better than others.I sampled one that was made like an Old Fashioned drink and it... More

It's a very relaxing atmosphere with tours available for 5 dollars including 4-4 ounce beer samples , very informative tour. There's a bar you can hang out in separate room. They have a nice selection of clothing and gifts. It's worth the drive out there

Enjoyed the family friendly tour. Learned a bit more about the process needed to make beer. Also enjoyed samples at end of tour.

I visit the brewery every time I come to Abita Springs and I usually bring people visiting with me because it was such a great outing but it has now changed. They've expanded the gift shop and I guess we now have to pay for that. They have started charging $5 for the tour ( it includes 4 drink sample... More

We enjoyed the tour. Well worth the $5 tour fee, even though the tour lasts about 30 minutes it includes a flight of beer, choice of four 4 oz beers. They even have nonalcoholic sodas for the kids. Employees are delightful and helpful.

Brought my son and a friend of his to the soda tour and they enjoyed it. The place was very clean and the staff was friendly and professional. Monica was our tour guide. She was great as she interacted with the younger kids. Although, the tour was short we enjoyed it. And the sodas were great!!

For $5.00, took the tour and received 5 tokens to try 5 different samples of beer. Kids are welcome. (some of the samples are root beer, creme soda, etc. ) Staff was so nice and welcoming. Stayed longer to hang out in their new "taproom" with big screen TV's! Would make a great spot to watch a Saint's game.!! Definitely... More
