Marie is simply fantastic. From the moment we first started talking with her before our trip to when she dropped us off at the airport for our return home, she went above and beyond to make sure we had a fantastic trip. I was down in Panama City for business and my wife arrived mid day on a Friday. We only had about 24 hr in Panama City, before we were to check in to a resort out in Playa Blanca. Marie gave us a tour of the City where we squeezed in the Miraflores locks, saw parts of the old Panama Zone, Took in the sights of Amador, Perico Island, the Panama Bay, and explored in Casco Antigua. We had the opportunnity to dine at few great local placeand the food was delicious. Marie dropped us at our Hotel on Friday night and was back on Saturday morning for some more exploring and shopping Casco and then drove us to Playa Blanca, which is a 2 + hour drive one way. She stopped at Quesos Chela for the most amazing empanadas and chicheme (nonalcoholic drink made from milk, mashed corn, cinnamon and vanilla). This is a must is you get a chance and are headed to the beach. We also made a quick stop at the Mirador de Campana to get a mountain view of the Pacific Ocean and the region. Marie was awesome and continued to check on us through out our trip. I can't wait for a return trip to go see Bocas del Toro and the San Blas Islands with Marie. I highly recommend her and Your Panama Tours. She is bilingual and is a great translator as well, if you need it.

My wife and I went to Panama for a wedding and decided to extend our stay there so we can see the country. I contacted Marie Willis and she was very knowledgeable, easy to work with and very accommodating. We went on the Embera tour and loved everything about it. It was so much fun on the piragua (canoe), walking in the jungle, enjoying the refreshing waterfall, and experiencing the culture and way of life of the Embera people. The entire day was spectacular and Marie was the most gracious host ever.

My husband, 11 year-old and I had the pleasure of exploring different sites with Marie. She is one of the most caring tour guides we've ever had! In addition, she is very patient, funny, knowledgeable, punctual and accommodating. She catered to all of our needs without hesitation. At one point, we decided to change one of the activities and she had no problem with it although it was an inconvenience for her. We booked her for airport pick-up as well as for tours to Isla Grande, The Embera tribe village, San Blass islands and several activities at Gamboa resort. She definitely exceeded our expectations! We saw a lot, learned a lot and met another traveler(new friend) who made the trip even more enjoyable :) While in Panama, do yourself a favor and contact Marie. You will not be disappointed!!

I am so glad I connected with Marie Willis for the Embera tour. She is very easy to schedule...answers phone, txt and emails quickly. I set up Embera and San Blas for consecutive days with her. We headed to the Embera tribe with a family of three and had an amazing day. We stopped at a beautiful waterfall, she was prepared with extra towels and water shoes which was so awesome because I was completely unprepared. The canoe ride was amazing also. The Embera people are beautiful and Marie has an amazing relationship with them. She is like the mom or grandma of the people :) she is so knowledgeable about everything in Panama City, the tribes, the islands, the history. She speaks both Spanish and English perfectly which was a huge advantage as I found communications difficult in general on my trip in Panama. She leads many different excursions but continues to check in and follow up. She made sure my trip to San Blas was successful all along the way! Her connections, drivers and associates are also trustworthy and friendly. I highly highly recommend setting up a tour or excursion with her. She is pretty much amazing :) The last picture I posted encompasses how much love she feels for Panama and everything there is to offer. I will return to Panama and see more with her.

I asked Marie Willis to take a group from a cruise ship docking in Colon on a tour to see the Embera Indians. It turned out to be the highlight of our cruise. We met her just outside the cruise terminal and she had hugs for all 24 of us. This isn't how guides usually treat their clients so I knew we would be in for a good time. It was just a short walk to meet our bus and the driver Fernando. Our first stop was going to be the new Agua Clara locks. A ship was going to be going thru the locks in about an hour so Marie was very patient with us as we waited to watch a very large container ship come into the locks. During the wait time there was a 15 minute movie to watch about the building of the new locks, some souvenir shops and a café with refreshments. It was well worth the stop to watch the ship move into and out of the locks. Our driver Fernando had an eagle eye while driving and made a couple of stops to show us a Sloth and a family of Howler Monkeys in the trees along side of the road. We arrived at the edge of the Changres river to meet a few of the Indians and load into some dugout canoes. It was lightly raining so we were glad we didn't have to far to travel before arriving at the village. There the Embera tribe met us, dressed very nicely in their colorful clothing and gave us a warm welcome. The children were very cute and everyone was kind and humble. The first building we came to was a very large building with a grass roof and dirt floor. Table were set up around the perimeter with handicrafts to buy. Everything from carved wood, cloth goods, beaded animals and bowls and plates woven from reeds could be found. In another hut further in the village the minister of tourism talked to us about their culture and one of the women showed us how they made the handicrafts. During this time on an open fire several women were preparing Tilapia fish caught fresh out of the river (or chicken for those that didn't want fish) and plantain. This was served in a cone made from a large leaf. It was delicious! Marie also brought a large selection of fruit for us to try. That too was delicious. Following lunch we watched and participated in ceremonial dances with the member of the village. Then back into the canoes, back to the bus and then to the port. It was a long day but very fulfilling. Don't hesitate to contact Marie Willis from Your Panama Tours. You won't find a better guide in Panama.
