I try to do food tours in every city that I visit because they are such a great way of learning about the culture and about the food of course! I loved this tour which introduced us to the diversity of Panamanian food. In fact as we were told there is no one thing called Panamanian food because it is such a melting pot. The tour is in the Old city of Panama which I had already visited so I wasn't sure that I would get much more from that aspect of the tour but I was wrong. Our tour guide Erica was excellent! She was full of information and very passionate about the way that she shared her knowledge with us. At the end I had a much better understanding of Panama yesterday and today. She was also very open to questions. The food - plenty!! This was one of the most generous food tours that I Have been on. There was lots to try and it was very varied in keeping with the melted pot theme. We also had lots to drink - let's just say that I was glad that I wasn't driving! All in all a great tour and well worth taking.

My sister and I took this Tour a couple of days ago and we’re so delighted that we did! It was very easy to make the booking online with Ingrid who was waiting for us on the day of the Tour with a very warm welcome. The Tour started promptly on time, and after a detailed introduction, we traversed through a few of the streets of Casco Antiguo (Old City) in the area surrounding the Plaza Catedral, stopping along the way to sample five tastings which were representative of Panama’s diverse and mixed culinary culture. I won’t spoil the surprise by listing the tastings that we had, but suffice it to say that they were ALL divine! The portions were very generous and attractively presented and the service was professional and timely at all the tasting locations. Panama Food Tours has done a great job of selecting the restaurants and tastings to offer guests a good introduction to the various cultural influences on the cuisine (eg. Peruvian and Japanese), and to the interesting mix of tastes and flavours. Three of the tastings were also accompanied by alcoholic drinks which were all great. The tastings were interspersed with stops at a few historical and cultural sites, and we had an excellent Tour Guide, Erika who was so very knowledgable about Panama and about Casco Antiguo. We had visited the area a couple of days before the Food Tour and had admired the area and architecture from a layman’s perspective, but touring the area with Erika gave us a much better insight into the history of the area, its origins, the changes it has undergone and the ongoing renovation and restoration of this beautiful section of Panama City. The entire staff was very warm, friendly and very hospitable, and I love their attention to detail (we even got umbrellas for the sun!). The walk between stops is quite short and the walking is done at a moderate pace so the Tour is suitable even for persons who do not normally do a lot of walking. I highly recommend this tour as a great way to see and learn about an interesting and beautiful part of Panama City and of course to indulge in some delightful Panamanian food. If I visit Panama again, for sure I will be back!

Ingrid does an amazing job or putting together an itinerary of eating places...some are cafes, some are restaurants and then there is desert. We have been twice now and absolutely love it. A walking tour taking you to some of the beauty that is Casco Viejo plus popping in and out of these sometimes hidden delights to experience such good food...we have such good food here in Panama and such varieties of it. You will not regret taking one of their tours...guarantee it! Good for a rainy day? yes, if you have an umbrella with you...our tropical rains are really something to experience and Ingrid makes sure you have an umbrella if you need one. This is her company and she cares...

I cannot recommend Panama Food Tours enough!!! We went to 5 different restaurants and had amazing food and drinks. It was very fun and Ingrid was a lovely host (along with her 2 staff). It was really neat to have the chef explain the dishes that we ate and we were also offered very yummy drinks with the food we sampled. We were very full at the end of the tour. It was 1 of the most fun activities I've ever done in a city and plan to do more food tours. If I ever return to Panama City I would do this food tour again with Ingrid.

we found out about this new unique group offering walking food tours in Casco Antigua - we went this Sunday and we had a great time - five very different restaurants from Japanese to Peruvian - we got to sample some of each of these fares and don't be fouled by "portions" there was enough that it was hard to have room to eat it all - a combination of history, food and new restaurants - I know when our friends visit we will be taking them on this tour - well done
