Monkey Island Tour from Panama City

170 reviews
Monkey Island lies on Gatun Lake, along the Panama Canal, and is renowned for its large population of monkeys, along with other wildlife. On this tour, set sail on a scenic riverboat cruise around the lake and the Chagres River; look out for wildlife such as slothes, iguanas, and crocodiles; and spot four different types of monkey on the island—mantled howler, white-faced capuchin, Geoffroy’s tamarin, and lemurine owl monkeys.

Such a treat! A piece of home for a European. The metro is totally cheap, more than easy to use, punctual, clean... Loved it!

We experienced the Panama Metro on a vacation in Panama City in March, 2020. We were visiting the city with our 14-year old grandson. My husband and grandson rode the Metro to visit and sightsee various parts of the city. The trains were clean and the stops were well-marked. We experienced the helpfulness of the police officers in the metro when our grandson failed to get off the train at the same time as my husband. Our grandson doesn't speak Spanish, had no money, and his phone only works on wi-fi. We were panicked to say the least. A helpful bystander communicated for us with the police at the metro station and we were able to reuinite with our grandson soon after. I was worried, but not for his safety, more for the fear he would be afraid in a foreign country. Later, I told him I felt he was safer lost in the Panama Metro than in most subways in the U.S.

If you can get to within a reasonable distance of your destination using the Metro, do it. Driving in Panama City is terrible. The Metro is clean, inexpensive, and the trains come every few minutes.

We each got a $5 Metro card and used it about 15 times. We still had a whole bunch left over. Easy to use and so convenient. The Metro Stations were clean and efficient. Highly recommended way to travel within the city

As said, clean and efficient transport. Not extremely packed at peak hours. Moveit app helps navigating the entire public transport trip.
