Even though the Cathedral is in the process of getting a face-lift, the plaza is comfortable and full of local flavor

This is the main, central square in old town PC. It's a pretty large square for that area dominated by a huge Metropolitan Cathedral. The Interocean museum of Panama canal is also there and an historic hotel. Many street vendors are around, likewise refreshment sellers...More

Beautiful Cathedral in the centre of old town. Superbly kept and so very spiritual. The town square is buzzing with a bandstand and stalls selling native handcrafted goods.

There is a lovely, recently tied up church that dominates the square a market on two sides partly surrounding a 'Band stand' structure which at the time of our visit was pumping out Panamanian music, which gave the square the buzz.. Don't forget to visit...More

This plaza is nice and worth to visit. But be careful, it was also the place I was robbed by 2 youngster. A friendly Panamanian older man chased them away. I met my uncle Tom at that moment

A very attractive square in front of the big old cathedral in the old town. We loved our walking tour of Old Panama City and this was part of it. Photos.

Restful spot to sit on a bench in the shade and watch people. Sometimes there is a craft market and live music. The cathedral is very popular

This is also called Plaza de la Indipendencia (excuse my Spanish!) Is a rather nice place: lots of different buildings are around that basically summarise the history of Panama: colonial, Art Deco, Spanish, 1910 but classical etc. Is probably the nicer square where you can...More

A bit far as it is on the other side of the city. FRom airport, you will pass by New Panama, then go over the bridge and see the Old City where the Cathedral is.
