The church can be found right next to the metro station named Iglesia del Carmen. The church cannot be missed and boasts height and grandeur in comparison to it's surroundings. The exterior is unique and awe-striking.

We were staying at the Hilton DoubleTree and this church is 2 min walk away. Simple elegance outside and in. White exterior and beautiful interior with a red altar and blue ceilings. I found the combination very calming while listening to the Spanish mass. If you're Catholic - you know the order of mass so hearing it in Spanish you can 'translate' some in your head while sitting with the Panamanian parishioners in this peaceful setting. 3 Daily M-F masses, 9 masses on Sunday and 4 on Saturday. Attending mass while on vacation is a cultural treat - this church was a great start to our Sunday morning.

It was well worth the effort to attend the beautiful mass last Sunday at this incredible church. It was surprising to feel the authentic experience of beauty, culture and heavenly bliss. We are so glad this church is in the heart of Panama City.

This church is front and center on Via Espana, it has its own metro stop. We have been a few times but on our last visit we walked in on the rosary. We took a seat up close and tried to follow along. The rosary ended and mass began. The oldest priest you can imagine made his way to the altar. He said a lovely mass but it took so long a young priest came out and asked us to leave before Father left the altar. The people were outside ready for the next mass. What made it special is how we were received during the handshake of piece. Even though my husband wore shorts he was given a million blessings from the parishioners.

Not sure if this is a large church or a small cathedral, but it's beautiful. Clearly a cherished site for religous worship, the church is adorned in beautiful but understated elegance. The feeling is one of daily use by the local people. Will never make any top 10 lists, but is a stellar example of a local church. Recommended for your time in Panama.

There is beautiful stained glass to be seen at this very impressive gothic cathedral, but unless you visit during the day, you won't be able to enjoy it as at night, the glass is completely in darkness.

Beautiful church, morning Mass at 6 and 7. Sunday Mass every hour starting at 6 AM. Air Conditioning works really well. If you stay at the Double Tree, it is across the street.

Not the most charming or beautiful architecture. It's a gothic architectural style although it was only built in the 20th century. I prefer the colonial style churches that I visited in Casco Viejo.
