Although smaller than I expected (I think we covered everything in under 2 hours, including a coffee-stop), we were impressed by the clean streets, gorgeous and historically sympathetic architectural refurbishment. I took lots and lots of photos and absorbed the five hundred years of history...More

Very cool Many good restaurants and bars. Old town at it's best. Rooftop mojito bars, on the waterfront. Atmosphere location, everything!

Previously the very bad part of town, now in the middle of early gentrification. Some burned out buildings. Some emerging bars and restaurants. Unspectacular architecture. I would neither recommend nor return. Never felt safe.

I walked around at night and really enjoyed it. The area feels quite safe, with most souvenir shops staying open til late and a big police presence around the president’s house.

Casco Antiguo is a ver y nice place at few steps of Panama modern city. It is a look to the past where everyone van findca place to share eat or simply walk across its ancient pathways.

Had so much fun exploring this area. Charming old churches, great restaurants, lovely views of the Panama City. Easy to get there from anywhere in the city. There are many cabs and ubers.

Great to walk around and explore, old building, lovely restaurants, roof top bars. Loved the experience of locals and tourist walking around. Felt safe, lots of police walking around. Our guide was super in showing us around, especially since we traveled with two teenagers.

A beautiful place to walk, nice restaurants and shops. Loved it. Totally recommend. I would even book a hotel in this side of the city.

Yes, Camille R, there is Wi-Fi access available in Casco Viejo. You can use Uber or Cabify in Panama City. Both are better then using a taxi. With a data plan on your phone you can use the apps anywhere. Just be aware that... More
