Casco Viejo is an interesting place to visit. There's still lots of run-down buildings but they've made huge progress over the past 10-15 years on improving the area. The history of the area is very interesting because it still has some old and new together....More

What a beautiful little city within Panamá city. There is a feeling of history as you walk through the streets and a clear French influence in architecture. Definitely a must to visit, narrow streets and quite a bit of remodeling happening.

Spent a day wondering the old city. Enjoyed museums, churches, shopping and people watching. Felt safe and comfortable.

Lots of shops to visit and restaurants. Be sure to visit Church San Jose, beautiful altar. A great French restaurant is de Lessups. Remember every price in most shops is negotiable.

This area is rich with things to do. It is one of the few areas of the city that can be called walking friendly. Spend some time walking around the shops, bars, restaurants, and nightlife.
