It is a nice park but like many attractions in Panama very limited in what you can see and do. Close to the city and inexpensive therefore worth going.

Several of us traveled to Zoo Summit from Panama City, Florida for the purpose of assisting with the movement of Jaguar cubs that were sent to Summit after they were confiscated. The mother Jaguar had been killed and the cubs were taken to Summit while we applied for a permit to move them to "The Living Desert" in Palm Springs,... More

We went specifically to see the Harpy Eagle and we were not disappointed. Although it was sad to see one in captivity, they have a breeding program at Summit and they are helping to re introduce the Harpy to habitats where the populations are hurting

Weekends are busy with locals but well worth while to watch them enjoying the outdoors. Some animals, but plants are the main attraction.

Had a walk round the gardens, looked at the trees, flowers and animals. Had a nice play area for the children. Watched a video and had a talk on the Harpy Eagle, Panama's national bird

Just okay. If you are out of things to do, it's okay. Otherwise, never mind. There is nothing to do for the kids, by the way. Just not that great.

Especially if you have kids with you, and they are bored with the Miraflores gates and the Old Town churches and museums, this is where you should go. They - and you as well, believe me - enjoy the quaint local animals and will be thrilled by the Harpy Eagle, the biggest of living eagles throughout the world. Tropical plants... More

I joined the long queue on a Sunday morning to pay the entrance fees to enter the gardens. It was a very educational experience by seeing different plants and animals in Panama and history of the land. Highly recommended if you have the time.

The park is a nice place to visit for a couple of hours. Summit is a wildlife rehabilitation center where confiscated/ "domestic wild" animals are brought to in order to recover. Most of them are sent back into the wild but some have to stay at Summit for their entire lives. You'll find multiple species of Monkeys, exotic birds, puma's,... More

The gardens was established by the US government within the limits of the old Canal Zone. At that time, the flora and fauna were well presented. Today it has become rather seedy although most of the exhibits remain. It is a good place to spend a few hours to appreciate the environment of the country.
