The audio guide is $5 and we'll worth it as it also covers admission. All of the museum's signage is in Spanish, so you really need the guide. The museum photos, video clips, and displays are nicely done. It gives you a comprehensive history of the making of the canal, from the French involvement to the American military completion in... We really enjoyed our 2 hours in the museum. Our cost was $2.00/person and headsets that provided English for the 2nd floor area (at an additional $5.00/person. If you don't speak Spanish and want to get much more for your money, get the headset). We got a very good idea of the history of the canal and the varying political,... More

For $2 it's a great break from the heat and there are a lot of cool thinks to look at in the museum but all the information is in Spanish. For $5 you can get the English audio. Regardless, it has some cool stuff and is worth checking out.

Very interesting and quite the story behind this major achievement. My photography was restricted by the guards to certain areas, but I enjoyed all the photos, models, & videos. Plus, it is located in old town Panama City. Very colorful and fun to see on a Sunday! The fish market located by the old marina provided great treats like Langostino.

The museum is giving a good recap of the process of building the canal, the history of Panama, and bringing us up to today. Lived in Panama for 3 years and this was my first visit to the museum, and we truly enjoyed it. It is not too big, and still gives enough information about the canal and Panama's history.... More

Although I am an American, I am half Panamanian, and I think the Panama Interoceanic Canal Museum is one of the best explanatory museums I have ever visited. However, all the descriptions are in Spanish and if you do not speak Spanish, the museum has earphones in several languages. If you are a history buff, you need at least 1... More

This was a great little museum. It's entirely in Spanish. Give yourself and hour and a half and get the English headsets. It's worth the extra fee. Unlike Miraflores Visitor's Center, this museum, in the best part of town, Casco Antigua, gives you the history, politics and culture surrounding the Panama Canal. Make sure you visit Plaza Bolivar before or... More
