We had a customized tour for 6ppl which included 3 couples. It included pick up and drop off at our hotel, monkey island, rainforest walk, old town, lunch included and causeway area near Panama sign. Isaac was our tour guide and he was kind, knowledgeable, and funny. We had a large van which was very comfortable. We learned a lot about the country and all our questions were answered. Before coming to Panama we were in consistent communication via email with Esther. I spoke to a staff member via WhatsApp and asked questions about carnival time in Panama which was helpful. I would recommend this tour group to anyone and felt that it was financially a good option considering we did our own itinerary with what we like and was private and intimate. Thank you all good job!

Our Bayano Cave tour was INCREDIBLE! Alex, our guide and who I felt became our friend, and with a second personal guide Manuel, who shared his land and culture with us, were AMAZING!!! From bats to stalagmites and a gorgeous swim at a natural pool at the end, this tour is definitely for those who want a piece of culture and an incredible experience that you will forever remember! Alex is a learned and educated biologist and his knowledge among birds, animals and the cave and basically everything is humbling and beyond respectable. We felt very lucky to have him be our guide. He knows the cave like his own home and made sure each and every way that it was safe for us during the trek. We have two adventurous children ages 6 and 9 and although we had to swim and climb at parts that were challenging and invigorating; Alex and Manuel were amazing at helping them and us have the most fabulous and extreme adventure! We saw howler monkeys on the way and then other howler monkeys happened to be above the cave as well! The lunch was fresh Tilapia cooked local style with plantains that was cooked by Manuel’s wife and the Tilapia was caught by Manuel. We felt very special to be a guest on Manuel’s porch to see a glimpse into his special life. There is a boat ride, there and back and again, which added to our amazing experience. We also took the train ride back, which the kids loved. This was a unique and local experience where we got to see more of Panama with Alex. Alex was such an incredible and learned guide. We felt safe and very very lucky to have him! Esther was very helpful in organizing this tour as well as we had to change the dates last minute and we very much appreciated her flexibility and Alex’s flexibility. We wish we were staying in Panama longer and would have been able to take more tours with Xplora Panama Tours! We can’t say enough how wonderful this experience truly was. Thank you Xplora Panama Tours and a warm thank you to Alex!

We did the waterfall hike and it was superb. Don't take the description too lightly - it is not a walk in the park!! However, the guides (Alex and Alex!) were EXTREMELY helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. This is totally worth it in terms of adventuring in Panama. Finally, the tour company headed by Esther is super easy to communicate with. It was very easy to arrange everything via email before we went to Panama, the communication with her was prompt and efficient, and everything just went to plan. This is the sort of professional tour company you want handling your activities in Panama.

We had a fantastic time on the Panama Canal Wildlife tour. Briant was an engaging, knowledgeable guide and took time to point out all the different types of birds and monkeys we saw. Highly recommend for a half day trip for anybody looking to explore the natural offerings of Panama!

Briant was our guide and he was phenomenal. We toured the waterfalls and were hosted for lunch by the most wonderful organic farming family. I am a 66 year old overweight woman and while I do NOT recommend this hike for people with physical limitations or the faint of heart it was an experience I will always treasure. Briant was kind, patient, and extremely knowledgeable. When we got to the first waterfall and were able to swim in the pool it was the most reinvigorating experience. Did I learn to push my limits? Yes. Was it worth it? ABSOLUTELY!
My family of niece, nephew and 3 children loved every minute and negotiated the trail much more easily than me.

Had an awesome time on our trip to see the wildlife around the Panama Canal stretch very close to the city. Our guide Briant was so knowledgeable about the species it was incredible. We saw different species of monkeys, baby and grown gators, lizards, and their behavior and interactions up close.
It was a morning trip that surely we will never forget.

It was our pleasure to take you to this tour. Maybe next time your mom could join us too in a warerfall hike. I know she loved the wildlife tour at the Canal. Would be great to tour with both of you again!

I can't say enough about how fun and fascinating this tour was. Briant is an amazing, kind and knowledgeable tour guide who made us feel like good friends immediately. Luckily, our tour group ended up being just my boyfriend and I plus Briant's son so we really felt special. The drive out to the lake is long, but it's interesting to see the Panama farm country. The lake is gorgeous and the boat ride is lovely. The cave experience was out of this world!! The bats, the frogs, including getting up close with a poison dart frog, the fish, and all of the "small" spiders were just cool and Briant can find all sorts of things even in the dark. I was so nervous about swimming through a black cave with bats flying overhead, but it was thrilling!!
Some practical information: Briant recommends hard toed shoes (like sneakers) due to the risk of stubbing your toes on the rocks. I wore some quality aqua socks with slip resistant bottoms and felt totally fine.
The hike is definitely moderately challenging. Lots of rocks to navigate and a little bit of climbing was necessary to get to the lagoon.
No real need for bug spray due to all of the bats eating the critters.
Bring a waterproof camera. Beautiful scenery but you will be swimming.
Thanks for everything, Briant! Let us know if you ever come to Dodger Stadium!

After reading the excellent reviews and receiving the email descriptions, I had high expectations for our multi-day tour with Briant Dominici. I have returned to the US very disappointed. In fairness, I will first describe the strengths of the tour. Briant or Lita or his representative were almost always on time. Two out of the three places we stayed were very nice, and the third had good service but many bugs in the room. Overall, the places we visited were interesting and off the beaten path. The major problem was that Briant has very poor people skills and attention to his tourists. He admitted up front that he was not an expert in the many birds of Panama, but in his email communication prior to the trip, Briant emphasized his zoology credentials and interests in this field. The reality was that not once on any of the hikes did he bring a pair of binoculars. Moreover, he had scant knowledge of the birds other than a few big ones, plants, and trees, including the well known Caeba tree. The worst part though was he would walk in front of the tourists and be text messaging. It reached a point that he did not even care if we found any species, including the only one he seemed to know about, frogs. Many of the hikes are extremely difficult. Yet, Briant offered little assistance or showed the slightest care if one of us fell down. I have never been on a hike where the guide shows such little attention to those on his tour. Lastly, throughout the tour, including while driving and at many meals, Briant would be on the phone or text messaging. In short, I would strongly advise other Trip Advisor customers to consider using another tour service.

I want to thank you for taking the time to write this review. Please be assured that your comments matter, and that we will take all the necessary measures to improve the points you addressed. We are very clear that our job is to help our guests have a wonderful time in Panama.
As discussed in private, my first reaction after reading your review was to offer you a refund, but you told me that you both enjoyed the tour and neither would even consider requesting one. And even though you stressed that the tour as a whole was enjoyable, and that you came over more strongly than planned in your review, we of course are committed to improve.
For me it is very important to clarify that we are not "birdwatchers", and we never meant for you to understand that we were. We are sorry for not being clear enough about this.
Another important point to mention is the difficulty of the hikes. All our hikes are considered moderate, but following your comments, we will review and expand the information in our website regarding each hike.
I apologize for the use of the phone, I was not aware it was causing such discomfort. If I should have known, you wouldn't have seen it again for the rest of the tour. Please understand that some of those phone calls where me trying to solve the last minute changes you requested during the tour. But you are right and I have already made significant corrections regarding this.
I'm also sorry for assuming you were doing OK during the hikes. I know I only helped you in a few spots (the ones that were more difficult), but you seemed to be doing just fine. I know now I should have still asked if you needed help.
There are new lessons to be learned every day. We use each experience to improve as a company, and improve the experiences we provide to our guests. I want to thank you for opening our eyes to things we can do better.

What I specified in the title of this review is the best real-life analogy I could provide, for this heavenly experience of a lifetime on this planet, as far as tours are concerned. Being very skeptical about tours (long packed buses, name tags throughout like it was an average day at work, high prices, etc.), I searched the internet for a good tour company and took a chance on XPlora Panama. BEST decision of my life.
My tour guide was a gentleman by the name of Luis. I knew this company is for real when I sent an email with a long list of questions only to receive a response in less than 10 minutes. Soon, a long series of back-and-forth emails help my doubts get completely cleared and I, after finalizing my payment and trip, was on my way to Panama.
During the tour, from landing to take-off, not once did I feel alienated or uncomfortable. Luis was very accommodating, understanding, patient, and knowledgeable. The tourist-traveler relationship established hitherto via email soon became a very good friendship, and the next thing I knew - we were eating together at exotic hole-in-the-wall places on full-moon nights! Luis was very efficient in his ability to take me to places on my bucket-list, and was extremely responsible in ensuring my safety, comfort, and enjoyment. What stood out most was his ability to gauge/read people (tourists) and modify his plans/ideas to suit their needs.
This company works only with top-notch business partners that are certified with years of experience. My tour involved traveling across the country with diverse activities (hiking, bird-watching, zip-lining, coffee tours, etc.) and every one of those was anchored either by Luis himself or by somebody carefully picked and chosen by him, with equal amounts of professionalism, experience, and courtesy (and looks, for what they matter). Needless to say, I was left craving for more at the end of my tour.
I am willing to learn whatever new language/vocabulary is needed to be able to express my STRONGEST recommendation of this tour company (Luis as guide) to anybody that wants to explore and learn about Panama, and have the most memorable trip of their lifetime. If you're one such individual and are reading this, then your search for a tour company, from my experience, just ended. THIS IS THE REAL DEAL and you can go ahead and sign up and pay for that dream experience. Happy Travels to ye travelers and keep rocking, XPlora Panama!!!
