I hired Alfredo Avalos (alfredo@exploreelsalvador.com) who was an excellent and knowledgeable guide who took me on a 2-day hiking tour of El Impossible National Park, Santa Ana volcano (at Sunrise) and Izalco volcano. He provided camping gear and was fun to hang out with. I highly recommend his services!

I just completed a terrific 3 days in El Salvador, Nicaragua, and Honduras with Alfredo and Explore El Salvador tours. Alfredo was so accommodating, knowledgeable, warm, and flexible with what we were wanting to accomplish. He bent over backwards to ensure our trip was a top-notch experience. His English is extremely good, he has great insight to all things about El Salvador (history, culture, geography, etc.). He brings passion, energy, and professionalism at every step. Couldn’t recommend anyone more. Do yourself a favor and soak in an unbelievably underrated country with Explore El Salvador!

Was on a work trip to El Salvador and our liaison connected us to Alfredo and we were very fortunate to spend our exploration day with his well-versed guidance. He took us to Joya de Ceren and his passion for the site and its significance shone throughout his presentation. When we were there, we ran into another tourism group and their guide took a moment to lavish praise on Alfredo, and he remarked that Alfredo has been doing this since before they even had a ministry of tourism and that as a colleague, he regards him as one of the best in the game. After he took us to Centro Historico and shared its historical context from an authentic, local perspective that was fascinating. If ever I have any friends or family in El Salvador I would not hesitate to vehemently recommend his tour!

We hired Alfredo for our recent visit to two archaeological parks and the Coatepeque Lake. We were impressed by his knowledge of the Pipils history and culture as well as current Salvadoran culture. Doubtless, Alfredo is a talented tour guide who knows how to handle groups so that they become more interested in El Salvador's natural beauty, history and culture. We are so thankful for his service!
