This is a small museum featuring history of the civil war. I recommend seeing the video which is well done and interesting. I am not a big history buff and you can see everything in about an hour, which for me, was just about right.

Visited this small (one floor) museum for about an hour. $2/foreigners ($1/Salvadorans). Clean bathrooms. If you’re aware of the modern history of El Salvador you’ll likely appreciate the museum more than if you don’t. That said, the museum has captions for many exhibits in Spanish...More

There's not a whole lot to see, but the museum is worth 30-45 minutes for a quick primer on the country's civil war. There are a couple of informative timelines (with principal information translated into English), some small displays of items from the armed struggle,...More

I must say I was shocked to see some Americans on this site call this museum a "waste of time," given how connected the U.S. is to the Salvadoran civil war (1980-1992) and to ongoing realities in the country. The museum exhibits are carefully done,...More

I arrived at 11:30, and museum closes for lunch at noon. This was enough time to hit the highlights on the single floor museum. I like the concept of collecting the personal experiences. Explanations in well written Spanish and English. The display of the radio...More

This museum was picked by our tour guide and I couldn't agree more with his pick. It was a very inspiring museum showing the courage of the people.

This tiny museum gives a basic overview of the people that died in the 1930s, and also looks at the struggles of women to get equality. Problem is it is too small and as such lacks any real substance. It touchea on a number of...More

This museum is a little gem. With civil war history documenting El Salvador's troubled past (from the rebel side) and other exhibits, it helps put events into context. Much was in Spanish, but enough signage was in English to make it understandable to this gringo....More
