I took a walking tour in San Salvador, and it started with a walk through Cuscatlan Park. My guide Estafanie gave me a great tour, and the history of the monument there. The 12 year Civil War memorial is absolutely beautiful, and shows every person who lost their lives throughout these dreadful times. I highly recommend walking though the Park and check it out.

I have been to Parque Cuscutlan many times, mainly to take new visitors to see the Wall of Truth and Memory honoring those killed and disappeared in the Civil War between 1980-1992. It is fashioned after the Vietnam Memorial in Washington, DC, and definitely worth the trip to the park. However, in the past year or two, the park has been closed for renovations, and it is beautiful. There are more attractions, places to sit, art work, a splash fountain, snack bar and walking paths in addition to the free art exhibit and the Wall. It feels very safe and is a great place to spend some time relaxing.

Cuscatlan park is located in the heart of the capital city of San Salvador. I went to the park with my girlfriend and we spent about two hours there, had lunch and sat on the park benches. Our afternoon in Cuscatlan park was perfect. It's beautiful and safe. This park is a breath of fresh air in El Salvador.

We visited this park in order to see the Monument to Truth and Memory. Reminiscent of the Vietnam Memorial Wall, it contains the names of the almost 30 000 innocent people killed during the civil war in El Salvador. It was a very moving and somewhat disturbing experience.

This list of people killed or disappeared in the Civil War is over-whelming, and the park is full of monuments to other famous Salvadoreno heroes and poets. The day we were there a troop of Explorer Scouts was having a field day - just what the heroes of the Revolutions in the country were trying to protect. The Salvadorans are very proud of their country and its history, and very friendly - don't be afraid to visit this country, you will feel safe, and very much appreciated.

Antiguo Cuscatlan boasts an impressive offer of the very best and cheapest pupuserías in El Salvador. Lively and safe neighbourhood; it is better to get there by cab as it is very difficult to find parking space.

Cuscutlan park used to be a barren wildernes, but it has been restaurated and is now a very nice place to cool down on a hot afternoon
