Santa Ana Volcano Hiking Tour + Coatepeque Lake Sightseeing

10 reviews
Scale the 7,822-foot (2,384-meter) summit of the Santa Ana volcano, El Salvador’s highest peak, on this moderate full-day hike, including round-trip transport from San Salvador. Tackle the mighty mountain with or without a guide, stopping along the way to soak up the scenery of the Cerro Verde National Park and tuck into a picnic lunch (included) overlooking the glittering Lake Coatepeque. Hike for a total of around 4 hours on marked trails, including some steep and challenging sections.

This was definitely one of my favorite building in all of San Salvador. The architectural design is flawless, both inside and outside. I loved the memorial to Saint Oscar Arnulfo Romero, who was brutally killed back in 1980, and became a hero of this small nation. Just beautiful at every corner, especially the painted dome!

An impressive monumental building, it cannot be said that it is an architectural masterpiece, but it makes an impression. Unfortunately failed to get inside.

From the outside this is an interesting building and on the inside it is both an oasis of calm from the city centre hustle and bustle and a beautifully decorated altar and side chapels. I am not religious but I found this both a beautiful and calming place.

Just another church out of the hundreds that I have seen in my life. But of course you have to see it because not much else to see in SS. It is a magnificent structure and the inside is very nice also. Close to all the other major sites in el centro so make sure you stop by.

Though not as imposing as cathedrals in Other places, its a nice calm place to spend some time. This was first constructed in1842 which got demolished in an earthquake in 1873. It was built again by 1888. Once again it was damaged in 1951. The third time it was opened again in 1999 March. A tiled mural facade which was done then got stripped off in 2012.
