The center of Kyiv, Sophia is a must! Some of the frescos are amazing...and be sure to look for the graffiti written on the walls!!!!!! Once you understand where Sophia is located, you'll not be lost in Kyiv!

Millennial masterpiece
Jan 2021
A magnificent place, quiet, peaceful, ancient. It rightfully occupies a place in the UNESCO World Heritage Site. A spacious territory, besides the cathedral itself with golden frescoes, you can visit other objects - the refectory, the Zborovsky gate, climb the bell tower, from where excellent views of the city open. The complex works as a museum, services are not held. Ticket price from 25 hryvnia for admission to 180 with visits to other objects.

Stunning Belfry
Jan 2020
The Belfry is perfect in every way, and could not possible be improved upon. The colors, the golden dome, the intricate detailed facade. The interior grounds and church are less impressive but still quite lovely and relaxing. Perfectly located, any tourist or local can easily see this place every day.

SPECTACULAR!!!
Dec 2020 • Couples
There are so many beautiful churches in and around Kiev, but my wife and I favorite has to be Saint Sophia! The architectural design is flawless, with such character at every corner. The green roof peaks just make this cathedral stick out in one of the most beautiful cities anywhere in the World!

Monument of great history
Nov 2020 • Couples
The church is beautiful and it’s architecture is breathtaking! The surrounding is full for trees and flowers it’s a calming place to be .dont miss the second floor of the Church .
When you enter on the right wall there is reference on the history of the church. Very important to know what you are watching at.

Relaxing Retreat
Oct 2020
After entering through the main gate, observed by a security officer, a small fee is payable at the counter, it is about 25 Ukrainian , this gives you access to the grounds, but not the resident hall.. I had an extremely relaxed and pleasant walk in the grounds and found a bench where i sat for half an hour, there is plenty of space to find where you can sit by yourself and read and make quiet conversation, no body will disturb you, the yard is kept clean, leaves are swept up, and the buildings are well taken care of, St Sophia is definitely one place not to miss, here you have time to be with your thoughts, and you don't have to worry about others getting in your way for taking photographs, you can take as many as you like.
