This is in the Square by St. Sophia's church. Our friend gave us a history lesson and was very informative.

Just another monument in a city dotted with monuments everywhere. This one is ok and has some interest.

This square is between two amazing cathedrals and worth taking a look. There is no real explanation around it which is a shame, 1888 is an important year though, seems the year it was erected and the General is celebrated in Ukrainian history and this...More

It's not an attraction by itself, but a good contribution to Sofiyska square and the city center. Certainly should pass by it

Again a nice place just to walk around and experience this city. Their statues are very large and overwhelming and kind of depict a very dark time for this country

Nice statue on the square, suits the historic site. Well maintain with the church on side side and St. Michael cathedral on the otherside

The statute raises awareness of a significant 17th Century figure that partially ‘resulted in the creation of a state led by the Cossacks of Ukraine.’ The statue is best seen at night, with lighting, as in the day it looks a bit tilted.

This is a great statue which sits in an amazing square. While we were there, there was a celebration of Easter with kiosks serving food and drink. Also amazing large painted eggs and rabbits by private citizens
