Great Architectural Design!

We stayed at the Hilton, which was only a few blocks away, and got the pleasure to walk by it every day! The views are great both daytime and nighttime. The inside is also stunning, and couldn't get enough on how detailed everything was!

Nice church in center pf Taras Shevsenko

I was entering there where there was an Event for christian people so please watch out and be respectful in there. People still pray actively but they are quite okey for foreigners.

I prefer for everyone to buy some soviniers, seller women were so nice people.

Garden part is also suitable to sit well.

Beautiful

This cathedral impressed me very much even by its exterior. As for the interior, it also looks very nice. However, a lot of Ukrainian cathedral looks very similar to each other for me… they all are gorgeous, but I cannot remember, which one I am standing in. Well, am not a connoisseur for sure, that’s my problem. I would better take an activity tour like the one I did several days ago. It was a military-oriented tour from Stay in Kiev travel agency. It was much more exciting for me than visiting the cathedral, I took a shooting option and drove a tank by myself, it’s a lifetime memories…

Saint Volodymyr's Cathedrall is beautiful. It's definitely worthy stopping by and seeing it.
It's very central, what helps a lot, you will have a lot of attractions close to it.

A beautiful cathedral, inside and out.
Feb 2020
The exterior walls are a striking yellow, surmounted by domes of deep blue set with stars and a central dome of gold. The interior is filled with icons and murals. There are disputes over which section of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church owns this cathedral, but as a tourist it is well worth visiting. It was built in 1852 to commemorate the Baptism of the Rus.

As we were staying in a hotel near Tarasa Shevchenko Boulevard we walked down this long street everyday on our eight days trip to Kiev and passed this church and what an amazing piece of architecture it is .
The church has interesting origins, to mark the 900th anniversary of the baptism of Kievan Rus by Prince Vladimir I Of Kiev a construction of this church was suggested, donations poured in from all over the empire and a massive sum of 100.000 rubles was raised and The Monastery Of The Caves donated 1000.000 bricks to help with the building of this church, more or less the work of several architects most notably Vikentievich Beretti ,its such a stunning looking church, its 6 piered with 3 apses and has seven gold topped cupolas ,during the Soviet times the church was closed and was used as a museum, reopened with the fall of communism it's now the mother church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
I thought the best views of the church were of a night when the church was beautifully illuminated.
It really is a stunning piece of architecture and most definitely well worth checking out if your in the area and easy to locate along Tarasa Shevchenko Boulevard.

I love the interior of this church, even though it usually feels quite dark due to a shortage of interior lighting. The painting and other decorations are beautiful, as is the atmosphere and reverence.

This is a magnificent masterpiece of Orthodox Church where you may pray, light a candle or just admire the cathedral beauty - its interior is fascinating, there are famous Vrubel and Vasnetzov wall paintings as well as nice frescos and other magic decorations.
