Amazing Vasnetzov's paintings, one of the most impressive orthodox cathedrals

St.Volodymyr is one of my favorite cathedrals and real must-see in Kiev. It is especially known for its amazing interior paintings one might spend hours admiring.

This is a unique and moving Cathedral and a must see to understand the culture of Ukraine. Be prepared to donate money for the right to photograph the murals and inlays inside the cathedral. This is a worthy cause since it helps to maintain the structure.

The Cathedral has little historical value, but is impressive and beautiful. Especially, from inside.

I visited this Cathedral several times. Luckily on Pokrova, 14 of October, the greatest Christian holiday I could visit it as well. Spacious inside, holy atmosphere. Staff inside was informative and helpful.

Visited this cathedral during an evening walk. Although very dark, but as there were prayers being held it was candlelit which gave it a very mystical and warm charm. Could have stayed there for much longer ! Very beautiful and well worth the visit

We see this church in the night and it was beautiful illuminated. Probably better see it in the night instead of day. It situated 7-8 min walk from the Opera and ballet theatre

This is a working church and when we went there was a mass going on. It is appropriate to cover head and legs if in shorts. Beautiful architecture and interesting interior.

Come across this cathedral by chance just as a weeding party were turning up and the bells were ringing out. Stunning from the outside and even more so inside, worth seeking out.

Stopped off at St Volodymyr's Cathedral as part of a city tour with Soloeast travel. we didn't stay long as it was very early in the morning and as it is a proper functional church we didn't want to disrupt the service too much. there is a small charge for taking photos inside which is well worth it if you...
