We visited the out door museum in February and there was a fair bit of snow which was to be expected. The planes are neatly laid out and you are allowed to access them very close. Some have interior access but you have to pay extra for these. However, these trips are very cheap so we paid under 1 Euro... More

Marvelous collection of Soviet built aircraft. Kiev is home to the Antonov Design Bureau some there are some rare Antonov types on display. There are plenty of examples from the other builders as well: Tupolevs, Ilyushins, Sukhois, Yakovlevs, MiGs & Mils; and more besides. Entrance fee is very reasonable and you pay a little extra to take photographs. There are... More

There are literary tons of airplanes from Soviet age, and you can even tough it. It was such a special feeling for people from Western Bloc. There is even Yak-38, which is a soviet Harrier copycat, and you can touch it. Amazing.

Not being a large fan of military or aviation history, I wasn't sure how much this museum would interest me. I ended up loving the experience however, especially the opportunity to get inside some of the aircraft, sit in the cockpits, and see what riding in some of these aircraft must have been like. The grounds are fairly compact but... More

Fantastic collection of cold war and current aviation specimens, really worth going. English signage for each exhibit too.. Take a picnic as at the moment no cafe on site, but a good souvenirs shop. A must see if you like planes, do go. Taxi recommended.

A great area spot of planes and helicopters next to a live airport. Xtra cost to enter planes reduces waiting long lines. A small shops for souvenirs and water etc. Have a nice moment among the steel birds.

Choose good weather. To get to it take bus/trolleybus (8,9 ..) to Sevastopolska Square then bus 220 (bus stop on main road - Lobanovskyi Ave) to end of route. Pick up bus at teminal carpark - in run down industrial area. 45mins-1hr from city centre.

Plenty of people at the AviaFest. Stalls mainly selling food and toys this is a family day out, but by queuing you can get inside some exhibits, Tu142 Bear, Il-62 etc. 80+ cold war era planes present add another dozen for the Fest An-2s An26 etc all low key but enjoyable.

Even iff you're not interested in aviation this is still a great place to visit.. We spend about 2 hours there. Some planes and helicopter can be seen at the inside. Food and drinks abailable.

The Aviation Museum is a real nice place to visit if you're interested in (military) aviation or if you're with kids. All planes are stationed in open air, so better plan the visit when the weather is nice. The museum is located close to Airport Zhuliany, so not close to the city center There are at least 50 planes and... More
