I took three tours in three days - Modern Kiev, Ancient Kiev and Downtown (Podil). All three were highly informative and the super-friendly & efficient guides Alex and Anna contributed a lot to my knowledge of the city and country. They gave not only facts but many side-stories and personal views & experiences. I will gladly join more tours with them!

I am Australian and traveled to Kiev in the Ukraine by myself, my main reason to travel was to do a tour of Chernobyl but while I had a few days in Kiev I came across Free Walking Tours in Kiev off Google so I decided to join them. I went on 2 of their tours that begin in Independence Square at various times through the day and go for 2 hours. The first tour was about Modern Kiev and the other was Ancient Kiev. I had 2 different guides for each tour and both were very friendly and knowledgeable of the sites they took me too. Although the tours were free and it is not expected I tipped both guides as a sign of my appreciation of their company and passion for helping people. You really get to see beautiful places of Kiev and hear very interesting stories of the history. I have added photos of the places I saw on these tours.
