If you are remotely interested in WW2 this is a must see, it's a huge place with monuments, military vehicles, tanks, planes, helicopters etc. The only downside is the actual museum part is only in Ukrainian so you can't really learn much if you don't speak the lingo. The motherland statue is impressive and from what I believe you can... More

Wonderful museum full of memories of a tragic time in Ukraine's history, I had an English speaking guide who was amazing. Thanks for a fascinating afternoon

If you're in Kyiv for more than a day, you need to make a stop at the Great Patriotic War Museum. (That's WW2 for Westerners) It is very inexpensive, very well put together and informative. The building itself is an attraction for history and architecture lovers. If you're a non-Ukrainian/non-Russian speaker, keep your eyes peeled for laminated cards at the... More

It's incredible how much they put together for this museum. It is very well designed so tells a story of the war from beginning to end. I thought I knew a lot about WWII and the eastern front but I learned so much here. It is also beautiful. The final room at the top really makes you feel a sense... More

We were 4 guys who wanted to have a look at this museum. It is huge, and tells the history from a Ukrainian point of view in a very good way. It is different to many western museums.

Very impressive building and grounds. Museum is well made but unfortunately 90% of the signs are in Russian only. The entrance is very cheap at less than one euro per person. There is an extensive collection of tanks and armored vehicles outside.

As title says, believe me. There are so many things, so many rooms, so many stories. Worth to go even if you dont speak Ukranian/Russian, the pictures tell great stories.

Unless you´re really interested in historic war devices, this is not the place you wanna go. Better head along for Rodina Mat museum that is just around the corner

One of the best museums dealing with the war in Europe I have visited. Tells the story of Ukraine during WW2, quite a harrowing story told through exhibits and audio commentary. You need a good few hours here to see the museum and the external array of WW2 and cold war tanks etc, plus memorials to the fallen and the... More
