The first picture is from Sarajevo ( Spring of river Bosna). It is wrong to use a picture from another place to promote some other places. So it would be nice to remove it. Have a pleasant day. All the best. Regards

Kosutnjak is known as lungs of Belgrade. It is actually forest in the middle of the city. During holidays it's park areas, picnic areas and children playgrounds and fields become full of people and children. The forest itself is a good place to walk, ride a bike, or just get lost :D D.
I have that luck of living near it, and am aware of special microclimate it has. On hot summer night here is at least 5 degrees cooler, so it is nice place to spend a day during Belgrade heat waves.
Oh, and there is a running track that has been recently renovated.

If you have enough time on your hand Kosutnjak could be an interesting place to visit. It is a huge park/forest located in the suburb of Belgrade. In the 19th century it represented a hunting ground for Serbian royal family and latter on it became one of the most favorite weekend getaways for citizens of Belgrade due to this tram line 3 (which still passes close to the bottom of Kosutnjak) is one of the oldest tram lines in Belgrade. If you choose to go by this line be sure to visit Topciderski park, which in my opinion is one of the nicest parks in Belgrade, place with lot of history as well prior to Kosutnjak. This rout will lead you through underpass (not the most enjoyable route) past Kosuta restaurant and to the Hajducka cesma (spring of pure water) which still represents favourite palce for BBQ’s a challenging hike will lead you up the hill and to a more well known parts of this forest. However I would suggest a less challenging and more enjoyable rout / approach take the bus (53 or 23) to the pool center, cross the street continue next to the sport education center, cross another street and you will be on the center part of upper Kosutnjak, there you can either continue to the left, passing running track (best location to jog in my opinion in all of Belgrade) Golf restaurant, to Ski Track (club Aleksandar) caffe which offers you a beautiful view of Belgrade, also close buy is a small traditional restaurant which has rooster walking around where food is ok, but I would always choose the view over it. Also on this rout be sure to mind few monuments which you can see on your way (since this place has a long history many important events have occurred here) one of them was originally placed by the Germans in WWI in memoriam of heroic stand made by few Serbian and British troops. Afterwards you can return to Banovo Brdo, either going down past the houses taking a tram close to Forestry Colleague or through Banovo Brdo park and ending up on the main street of this part (Pozeska) where you can choose a number of busses or trams.
All in all in my opinion it is a nice getaway and one can chill out and breath in some fresh air.

Kosutnjak is not an ordinary city park. Kosutnjak is a beautiful hill covered with dense forest, with sports facilities and beautiful cafes and restaurants.Located only a few kilometers from the city center, this former hunting ground for Serbian elite, today is a favorite resort, for young and old Belgrade citizens.
My only complaint is that many drivers park the cars on the grass, and that during the holidays whole Kosutnjak smells like barbecue...On the other hand, many prefer that smell ....

In the summer time and weekends this is the place with 5°C lower temperature in the wood. Big park on the hill with restaurants and sport activities. Escape from concrete in the city.

Once a royal hunting grounds ,it was supposedly named after red deer.Today there are no more deer but lot of species of bird.
Protected as a moment of nature and a favorite area of leisure and relaxation ,it also houses sport and recreation swimming pools and sky slopes..
At the foot of the hill is the legendary Hajduk Fountain
dating back to the 18th century, which is one of the oldest with natural spring water.
Near here Mihailo Obrenovic ,Prince of Serbia was assassinated
In 1968 ,giving Kosutjnak additional importance as an historical
site.
Must see in Belgrade.

Pretty untouched forest with many paths going trough it.
There is sports area, but and caffe with a best view on Belgrade.
Košutnjak is suited on the Belgrade's bigest hill - Banovo brdo.

in this year of 2018 (Centenary year of the 1918 Armistice) this place has huge significance, as it was here that Gavrilo Princip practised his shooting skills with a 9mm Browning pistol, he would later use this to shoot Archduke Ferdinand in Sarajevo, resulting in the First Word War and 10,000.000 dead in four years.
Hi! I'd like to know if it's possible to go there using public buses. If yes, could you please inform me about the number of that bus? Thanks in advance.
