Moments of nature
Jul 2019 • Friends
Once a royal hunting grounds ,it was supposedly named after red deer.Today there are no more deer but lot of species of bird.
Protected as a moment of nature and a favorite area of leisure and relaxation ,it also houses sport and recreation swimming pools and sky slopes..
At the foot of the hill is the legendary Hajduk Fountain
dating back to the 18th century, which is one of the oldest with natural spring water.
Near here Mihailo Obrenovic ,Prince of Serbia was assassinated
In 1968 ,giving Kosutjnak additional importance as an historical
site.
Must see in Belgrade.

The first picture is from Sarajevo ( Spring of river Bosna). It is wrong to use a picture from another place to promote some other places. So it would be nice to remove it. Have a pleasant day. All the best. Regards

Big forest in the middle of Serbian capital city
Dec 2017 • Solo
Pretty untouched forest with many paths going trough it.
There is sports area, but and caffe with a best view on Belgrade.
Košutnjak is suited on the Belgrade's bigest hill - Banovo brdo.

Green oasis
Sep 2017 • Couples
Kosutnjak is known as lungs of Belgrade. It is actually forest in the middle of the city. During holidays it's park areas, picnic areas and children playgrounds and fields become full of people and children. The forest itself is a good place to walk, ride a bike, or just get lost :D D.
I have that luck of living near it, and am aware of special microclimate it has. On hot summer night here is at least 5 degrees cooler, so it is nice place to spend a day during Belgrade heat waves.
Oh, and there is a running track that has been recently renovated.

Great, beautiful green area in Belgrade !
Jun 2016 • Couples
Here I always love to come, whenever got the time. Kosutnjak or Kosutnjak Hill as it calls also, since it has got one altitude by no means negligible for one city, of 250 meters, is the vast forest and park stuck between the Banovo Brdo ( Banovo Hill), one elevated part of Belgrade and another pretty area, called Topcider, the park as well.
In Kosutnjak there is everything and for everyone, either You like to hike, to ride the bicycle on the numerous trails through the evergreen and deciduous forest or take some sports down the hillside, where lies
the " Košutnjak", sports and recreational center. There are the playgrounds for soccer, athletics, volleyball, basketball, handball and swimming pools, open air and indoor as well.
Another present sport and recreational center is "Pionirski Grad" ( Pioneer Town) at some higher level than "Košutnjak" and here, nearby is "Filmski Grad" ( Film Town) with many studios, buildings and equipment for the film industry.
There are the nice restaurants as the "Košuta" ( The Doe) , "Golf",
"Devetka" and others. All this region was sometime the royal hunting reserve, belonging to the Obrenovic family and name of Košutnjak came from the does, that freely roamed in this forest in the past.
Very popular spot among the Belgraders is the spring at the foot of the hill, called the " Hajdučka česma" ( Brigand fountain).
We've been here one weekend this summer and really enjoyed.

Lung of Belgrade
Sep 2016 • Friends
Kosutnjak is not an ordinary city park. Kosutnjak is a beautiful hill covered with dense forest, with sports facilities and beautiful cafes and restaurants.Located only a few kilometers from the city center, this former hunting ground for Serbian elite, today is a favorite resort, for young and old Belgrade citizens.
My only complaint is that many drivers park the cars on the grass, and that during the holidays whole Kosutnjak smells like barbecue...On the other hand, many prefer that smell ....

This large green oasis is located in the suburb of Belgrade ...
It was hunting ground for Serbian royal family ...
Now it is one of the most favorite weekend getaways for citizens of Belgrade ...
Full of running tracks, sports fields and pools ...
Perfect place for families to enjoy nature or with friends to play sports ...

One of the most beautiful parks. From nice restaurants, to jogging tracks. No matter whether you want to have some barbecue, or play tennis, you'll find your corner here.
