Great meeting spot in Belgrade and on a sunny day you can sit at one of the cafes and relax and people watch. It is very easy to find and you can't miss it. There are also several buses and trams that have stops long that square. Very central to tourist spots.

Republic Square is the center of Belgrade. Large square overlooked by the National Theater and the Museum and adorned with the equestrian statue of Prince Mihailo. Lively and crowded, it is impossible not to pass by when visiting the city.

Not only a central square of Belgrade but also a to-go place to celebrate the New Year's Eve outdoors. There was a big scene and few stalls just outside the event entrance. I recommend going there for music events like this.

There was not much going on here when we visited. It was fairly empty. It is pretty much the same as most squares in Europe with a large central statue. Its also close to bars and restaurants. Also close to the national museum and theatre.

There seems to be a public square named Republic in all the Balkans capitals and Belgrade isn’t going to buck the trend. The Republic Square in Belgrade has some of the best attractions and landmarks of the city including the National Museum, the National Theatre and the statues of important Serbians and Yugoslavians. There’s also plenty of cafes and restaurants like most European public squares. Definitely worth visiting when in Belgrade.

This area is fenced off for a long-term construction project. Unfortunately it's impossible to avoid the central location as you walk around Belgrade, and our Belgrade Walking Tour met here. I guess it will be splendid when its done, whenever that is.

One of those typical squares in this part of the world. Eastern Europe. A massive statue in the middle and lots of photo taking.

As Trg Republike is the main square of Belgrade, it's almost impossible to miss even if you try. The square itself is surrounded by important buildings, such as the National Museum and the National Theatre, and a tourist information also can be found there, and many of the most important sights of Belgrade are just a short walk away from there.

The square itself serves as one of the most popular meeting points for the people of Belgrade - and of course, foreigners as well.

The square often hosts events, like fairs and concerts, which make this already popular place even more frequently visited.

Spacious spot with the National museum and commercial outlets. M8dern in the 80s, but archaic now a days, just like the city of Belgrade. Grey and gloomy in a way.

This history-filled square was just around the corner from our hotel. Some work in progress made walking a bit difficult, but still the opportunity for photos!
