The museum is well organized and interesting. When you go inside, the worker measures your temperature and shows you where you need to sanitise your hands. You can learn a lot about Serbian history and after many years of waiting for museum to reopen, I am very happy that I had a chance to see it again. I visited the museum on a Sunday, so it was free which was also a pleasant surprise. Two beautiful hours spent on a Sunday morning. I highly recommend it!

The museum is very nicely organized and has a nicely sized collection. 90 minutes to 2 hours is plenty of time to see everything. We appreciated that the descriptions were also in English. The museum’s entrance fee was also very affordable!

Very interesting and well organized museum with inscriptions and explanations in English. The first floor is dedicated to the prehistory of Serbia and the civilizations that developed in these lands, including the Roman Empire. On the upper two floors there is an exhibition on the medieval history of Serbia, as well as exhibitions of works of art. I strongly recommend it. It will take you about 2 hours.

This is a pretty large art museum that was conveniently located across the street from our hotel (Courtyard Marriott). We just focused on the newer art from the 19th century forward. They had a good mix of Yugoslavian art as well as pieces from other European artists. I saw a Van Gogh, a few Renoirs and Degas along with several other notable artists. We spent 45 minutes here on our limited tour and enjoyed it.

Very nice. I was positively surprised with both quantity and quality of the exhibition. Only the security is a bit weird. I get the rule that you can't take off your jacket inside the museum, that's why you can leave it at the reception, but bothering kids because they don't wear it properly on the shoulders... seems ridiculous

As the name says, it’s the national museum and is heavy of Serbian history and art. Fair enough. All the displays are very professionally done, with English info. From the prehistoric to today, you’ll find lots of art and artifacts on and by Serbia and Serbians. Plus some general European art. Good overview of Serbian history and culture. Clean toilets.

Came here after hearing many good things about it and I’m glad to have had the opportunity to come. The museum has over 3 floors of Serbian history where you could spend hours on end reading and observing artifacts and paintings. Had a great time learning more about the history of Serbia. Well worth coming here!

Visiting family with two young children, we were pleasantly surprised how everything was well organized. On three floors of an impressive building, a tremendous collection of artistic and historical heritage really kept us interested, both children and adults. We will certainly come back to continue exploring!

National Museum (Narodni Musej, in Serbian language) is located in Republic Square (Trg Republike, in Serbian), one of the main places in Belgrade. In this museum, you can learn a lot from the prehistory to nowadays. In fact, it is a museum of the history of Serbs as a nation (not a museum of history of Serbia as a geographic country), so you can see a lot of objects from Serbs in all regions, where they have lived (B&H, Croatia and other Republics of de disappeared Yugoslavia). Really a very interesting museum, where you can find a sumarize of the history.

Very good and entertaining museum.

Yet my colleague was interested of seeing something and stepped on the entrance security gate and it alarmed.
The security was very agitated, started screaming, and told us the way out.
It was a good and memorable tour but unfortunately they ruined and spoiled our last memory of the museum.
It sort of had a bad ending :(
