Like many people who visit the Balkans it is interesting to learn about the regions turbulent history however it can be difficult to get balanced view as it is quite an emotive subject for people who live there. I was therefore very fortunate to meet Nemaj, a history academic who presented the history of Yugoslavia from the 19th century to present in a thorough, well researched and balanced manner. It included some sights in the city, the museum of Yugoslavia, Tito Mausoleum and the ruins of buildings damaged by NATO air strikes. The cost of the tour was only 10 Euros which is good value as it covered transport costs and entry to the museum.

These guys are fantastic! I only have good words for them. I went on a trip to Subotica and Tara National Park with Belgrade Walking Tours as part of a recommendation. I decided to reach to to them and they were very responsive and was able to schedule trip with them shortly after. During the trips, the guides provided lots of historical and local information for the duration of trips; they also gave recommendations and advise while staying in Belgrade. The guides do make sure you enjoy the trip and place high importance on safety. Miloš and Novica were the tour guides for my trips. Both of them are very knowledgeable, extremely kind and fun to talk to. They even helped out when I ran into some unexpected issues. I am very appreciative and thankful for meeting them. These guys are the very epitome of Serbian hospitality and warm-hearted people. I will be scheduling more tours with them in the future! Lots more to explore. I totally recommend booking tours with Belgrade Walking Tours if you are in coming to the city and also want to explore all Serbia!

After being let down by another company I was still keen to find out more about Communist Yugoslavia and so was delighted to come across, by sheer accident, a guide from Belgrade Walking Tours.

Not for the faint hearted - it was 3.5hrs long - but well worth it. Our Guide took us through the history of Serbia and the countries which later went on to form Yugoslavia, from the 19th century, through the Balkan wars and two World wars. The Communist period was dealt with in depth and the story was brought right up to date, through the break up of Yugoslavia to the present day.

We visited sites of note in the city centre before getting on a trolleybus out to the Museum of Yugoslavia. Here we saw the burial place of Tito and were taken through the various artefacts in the museum. We then boarded another trolleybus back into the city.

Our Guides knowledge of the subject was vast and he was happy to answer questions, even ones which were a bit tangential to the main story.

I came away feeling as if I had learned a lot.

Very highly recommended indeed.

We went for Downtown tour with our guide Milan. Despite the weather was cold and windy, 3 hours raced by quickly and our marshal with yellow umbrella was charming, smart and knew how to attract our love and attention to this awesome city.

Thanks for recommending Kafana ?, our bellies are full of pljeskavica :)

It was an incredible free tour. It was not too long nor short, with the precise information and very interactive. Jovana, the guide, is willingful to answer all the question you have and give all the tips about typical food and places to go, and tries to do the tour as funny and interactive as possible, to have a real approach to the serbian culture, with a rakja taste and a express lesson of cyrilic. 100% recommended to take a tour with her!

We went on downtown and on 20th cent tour. Both times our guide was Milan, who was top of the top in every aspect, I can only talk in superlatives. Very recommendable, they do the tour every day of the year, which comes handy especially on public holiday.

We've had a lovely guided tour to Novi Sad with Milan. The guide was really knowledgeable and just a nice person to talk to :)
Also, they have a pick-up service from your accommodation, which is a great thing here, because you don't have to spend a lot of time trying to get to the city center or to the fortress near the city which is difficult to get to on foot\by public transport.

I guess at least 1 tour outside Belgrade is a must in Serbia, so do not hesitate:) Highly recommended!

We called "Belgrade Walking Tours" agency on a Saturday afternoon, to check the availability of that tour for the next day. The person on the other side of the line said that most tours were fully booked for Sunday, but promised to try and find us a guide anyway. He called back in about five minutes and told us that he found a guide just for the two of us.

Milan, our guide, and Djura, the driver, arrived the next morning to pick us up from our Hotel in Belgrade. We found ourselves in a one-on-one tour, guided by a most courteous, professional and experienced guide. Milan took us to see each and every site in which we showed interest, answered any question we had, on anything, demonstrated vast knowledge and passion for his profession.
Milan really cared about our complete satisfaction and enjoyment. We are grateful to him for his friendly and courteous attitude and for an exceptionally interesting trip.

We would also like to express our gratitude to the driver and to the agency for providing us with that tour on such short notice.

Highly and heartily recommended.

The tour is really well structured. A lot of interesting things about the city, history, culture, the people, the architecture, etc. There was nothing missing. Zeljko tells everything so passionately and I could listen even more after 3 hours! I can recommend this tour to everyone, even to those who think they already know Belgrade. Thank you 💕
