My paternal grandparents emigrated to the US in 1919 from Crvenka, Austria-Hungary (Serbia today). I have always wanted to visit and see where they grew up but was hesitant to try to plan and execute this trip on my own. I found Serbian Heritage Tours via Trip Advisor and the internet and I truly was not disappointed. I had some family history information for her, but she took my information and provided a whole lot more. We spent 2 days with her and were able to locate my grandmother's childhood home thanks to her research. Even better, was that the owner was home and allowed us to tour the home and ask a multitude of questions about the house since he had lived there for 30+ years.
During our two days, I learned so much about Danube Swabians that I had never known before. Snezana was very knowledgeable about the area, the history, and the culture, creating a great tour for us.
If you are looking to learn more about this area or Danube Swabians in general, I highly recommend Serbian Heritage Tours, it will be money well spent.

I had the good fortune to be the recipient of a tour of the St. Sava Temple and the surrounding area by Snezana Bulatovic during my recent stay in Belgrade. Ms. Bulatovic is a highly educated and talented tour guide whose deep knowledge of Serbian heritage and history is inexhaustible. She clearly loves what she does and is able to create a comfortable and fascinating excursion for the traveler who has come to Serbia to learn about the the capital and the country. She is a lovely person who has left me with a desire to learn more and return one day for deeper tours into areas outside of Belgrade.

I highly recommend Ms. Snezana Bulatovic to tourists and travelers who want to learn about Serbia.

If you have not ever visited Serbia, formerly part of Yugoslavia, then It is high time you do. My wife and I contacted Snezana Bulatovic at Serbian Heritage Tours and spent a long weekend based with Snezana in Belgrade, Subotica and Novi Sad. History wise, we just did not know what an important role Yugoslavia had played in the story of Europe. Snezana is a very good listener and using her long experience, then so adept at recounting important events of Serbian history in our conversations. She paid attention to the details but also folded her information and explanations into a background of Serbian culture, which enthralled us. Snezana was with us 'from start to finish', always ready to make our trip so exciting and so informative by answering our many questions without hesitation. Snezana, you are a star! Thank you so much!

My brother and I went on a 12 hour ancestral heritage tour with Snezana. Our ancestors were Donneauschwaben from several towns and villages north of Belgrade. Snezana was an outstanding guide. She is extremely knowledgeable about the history and architecture of the area. she also had done some background research in addition to the information I had provided her to make the tour more meaningful. We drove there in a comfortable car, saw the house addresses and churches where our grandparents and great grandparents lived and attended. She arranged our transport to and from the airport during our visit to Belgrade. It was fabulous.
We also did a 4 hour walking tour of Belgrade with her. Again, Snezana was very knowledgeable about the history of hte city, the different buildings and churches, places to visit and sites to see. We had a great time. For families or individuals interested in genealogy, I would definitely recommend Serbian Heritage Tours.

We have just returned to the USA after spending an amazing tour with Snezana Bulatovic of Serbian Heritage Tours. Our goal was to gather more information on our family which had lived in Crevenka (Tscherwenka) for over 150 years and were original settlers of the communityn until their expulsion in October of 1944. This was my fourth visit to Crevenka and I was unsure that I would gain additional information. Armed with maps and courage to knock on doors, Snezana was able to locate the family home (different than where we thought) and get us inside! Imagine the thrill we had as we explored the grounds and home that still had the original floors and paint on the walls. We were able to visit the location of the prison in which our grandfather had been held after returning home after the war. Most importantly, she has access to genealogy records that we have been told were lost, destroyed, or hidden. Although we have researched our family tree since 1990, she was able to locate information we never could. Needless to say, we have hired her to do extensive research on our family line. Her knowledge of local history and Donauschwabian customs are unsurpassed. I highly recommend her if you want information unavailable to the common traveler. She was able to translate documents we sent her that provided additional much sought after information. If you hire her, please don't be put off by the cost if it seems high. It is worth every penny and you should look at this tour as a trip of a lifetime. I will admit I was concerned about sending a deposit well in advance, but Snezana was in touch with us continually and provided us updates prior to our visit. We were provided with great recommendations for food and transport to Serbia and we felt a high level of safety as we traveled with her. This tour is a must for anyone seeking a glimpse of what was

Snezana was the best! She delivered on everything she promised and more on my 12-hour tour. I was looking to investigate my family who lived in Sekitsch (Lovcenac) in Serbia before WWII. Snezana put together everything she could find and mapped out the houses where my ancestors lived. She also took me to the memorial and mass grave area at Gakowa and the building in Sombor where the original settlers registered. She even found some I hadn't known were still alive in 1944. She gave me the full history of the area during the drive.

I was a little apprehensive about the trip at first as I was traveling alone and had never been to this part of the world before, but she reassured me about the safety of Belgrade and gave me tips about where to stay, go and eat. Everything she told me was spot-on. She also set up my transfers to and from the airport. Because of her I had a great time, saw all the sights that I could in the short time I had, and saw where my ancestors lived. Her driver was fantastic and took us everywhere in comfort.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience in Serbia thanks to our fantastic guide Snezana. From the first contact via email to plan the trip to the final farewell in Belgrade, Snezana was friendly, clear, collaborative, informative, and organized. She is absolutely wonderful. I was very determined to visit a number of sites in a four day period. She designed and conferred with me on the itinerary and everything went perfectly. She also selected excellent restaurants with a variety of foods, and through each day of the trip provided commentary on the history, art, architectural and cultural aspects of each place we visited. She was enthusiastic and engaging throughout. Our driver was also excellent. This was an amazing experience. I highly, highly recommend Serbian Heritage tours and Snezana.

This is my second time taking a tour with Senzana and I am just as happy these several years later as I was the first time.

We did a day trip from Belgrade to Northern Serbia. We visited the Hopovo Monasteries at Fruska Gora National Park. Followed by a light lunch / wine tasting at Sijaski Winery. And capped it off with a visit to Novi Sad and it's charming, vintage architecture. Snezana delivered on exactly what we were looking for!

Our driver was very professional and capable (never got lost). Snezana though was the highlight because she made the story of this part of Serbia come to life. She also knew the lay of the land wherever we went, and was very attentive to anything we needed.

If you'd like to truly experience Serbia in a way no book can do for you, hire Snezana from Serbian Heritage Tours!

My husband and I recently took a wonderful one-day trip with Snezana (and driver Vlad) to visit a group of Banat villages in Serbia and Romania that were the homes of my maternal grandparents. She has an encyclopedic knowledge of the history and culture of the Danube Swabians that she loves to share. Even though there was little left of my ancestors who emigrated to the U.S. in the early 1900’s we were able to learn so much about the lives of those German settlers and to understand the history of these families from their first migration to the Banat to their departure for the U.S. I can highly recommend her.

If you want an in-depth genealogical search she has access to the family books and other historical sources that I was unable to find. She completed an extensive family tree tracing several branches of my family back to their German origins. This is done as a separate service but was well worth the cost.

We are happy to say that this tour was just right for us to see many important monasteries in Serbia including Kosovo. We took a 4 day itinerary, and saw the most beautiful monasteries while learning about the history of the country. Snezana's knowledge about each monastery helped us to understand the history as well as fresco images. The accommodation and meals were also interesting and carefully thought out. Snezana has long experience showing Serbia to visitors, and this tour benefits from her many experiences and deep knowledge of the country. She has a great sense of humor, and she and our driver Vlado were wonderful companions for the four days.

If you are interested in Christian art and architecture, this tour will bring you unforgettable experiences.
