The Belgrade Good Hope garden (Serbian:Београдски врт добре наде / Beogradski vrt dobre nade) is a zoo located in Belgrade, Serbia. The zoo is situated at the very centre of the city, in Kalemegdan Park. The zoo was founded in 1936 and is one of the oldest zoos in Europe.[1] The zoo covers an area of about 7 hectares (17 acres),[2] and has 2,000 animals representing about 270... More

For somebody who doesn't agree with animal cruelty this is bot a good place. Animals are in small cages. They don't look happy. It is interesting to kids and there is a good variety of animals but it is painful to see them like this.

The zoo appears deceptively small from the outside but has a wide variety of animals including big cats, an elephant and some primates. Unfortunately I have to agree with the other reviewers that the animals generally look very sad and bored and the enclosures are small. The primates are kept inside and alone, which is horrible for sociable animals. They... More

It's a good zoo, a nice variety of animals. But the zoo is not well-structured; that is, there are not many directions guiding you about what route or path to take to see all the sevtions and animals in the course of your entire visit. Also, some cages or sections do not contain any information in English about the animal/s... More

On the beginning place seems ok, but when you enter, you will immediately get unpleasant smell in ypur nose. Its dirty, almost abandoned place. Some cages looks old like zoo (80 years). Otherwise, they have lot of different animals and for kids is absolutely nice.

The zoo seems not very rich from the outside. I was positively surprised for the amount and diversity of species when I visited. It has to be noted that the space for some animals are not large enough. In the zoo there is no other place except a modest cafeteria to rest. Go in the late afternoon when they feed... More

We went because my young daughter loves animals. At first the zoo seemed nice and the small animals have nice areas for them to roam, but once you get to the larger animals everything changes. There are 2 large hippos in a tiny water tank that can barely turn around. The anaconda snake in the reptile area has to stay... More

Wonderful experience every time :) I believe that I visited this place more than 15 times, but it is always new filing. The best possible picnic for family with kids, animals are making us all happy. If animals are not enough there is lot of others contents for children (luna park and fortress Kalemegdan).

The Zoo is nice though I hate zoos and the concept for animals behind glass locked up like prisoners.
